Is October too early to start writing Christmas Hubs?

It's October 7th and I have some ideas for hubs about Christmas ( I'm not marketing anything). In your opinion, will I get traffic to them yet? Or is it best to wait till closer to the Christmas season?

I don't have any personal experience to back this up, but from what I've read here on Hubpages, this is the perfect time to begin posting Christmas hubs.  I plan to publish a few in the next weeks myself.  The reasoning for this is that it takes some time for the Hub to get indexed to google and show up in search results, so if you wait til December it could not peak in the google ratings until after the holiday.  So it probably won't get a lot of traffic yet, but publishing now will assure more traffic later.  At least that's my understanding.

Thanks ElleBee. That's good news since I have some ideas floating around already.

I agree with Elle, it is probably a good idea to start now since we are almost to November--already!  People are beginning to think Christmas and do early shopping.

Here in the Philippines, we start preparing for the holidays as early as September.
Writing Christmas hubs on HubPages is always 2-3 months prior to the occasion.
In addition to that, there's a Review Contest @ HP this coming November as preparation for the Christmas season.smile

      thesailor,,
I appreciate your answer. I didn't want to market or review anything in these hubs so they won't work for the contest, but thanks for answering. I would love it in the Philippines as I always start my preparations for Christmas early.

Like ElleBee, I don't have facts to back this up, but I think it is a great time to begin.  There are scores of people out there who start thinking about Christmas in August!  So I think October is the ideal time to begin writing Christmas Hubs.

Thanks for the answer. It seems like it's ok to start from the general consensus!

Sure.  I have started seeing Christmas items in the store so it is definitely in my mind now and today at the grocery store they had Christmas cards.  A lot of people like to start their planning early.

Christmas cards already? Wow! Thanks for your answer. You make a good point...if the stores are displaying Christmas I guess we can write about it.
