I had a really successful Halloween hub that cause a big spike in pageviews during October. Now that Halloween has gone, my pageviews have gone back down to normal.
In trying to analyze where my current pageviews are going, I find it particularly interesting that I'm still getting 10-20 views a day to my Halloween hubs. Just curious people? I don't mind it, I just find it odd. I wondered if others are experiencing this.
I saw a big jump in one of my hubs...it was climbing by leaps and bounds. I was thinking that maybe it had found it's way to a network group or something...that had all clicked on it...then I looked at my tags...and low and behold...it had a few choice words for Halloween...*light bulb moment*...and yes...like you said...there are a few stragglers even after Halloween!
Cool! I'm very happy to hear this. So, I'll put up my Halloween Party Hub I was planning...but then it got late & Halloween came and went.
Thanks!
My traffic more than tripled over Halloween (and the weeks leading up to it), I was hoping it wouldn't end, but unfortunately it has.
Roll on next Halloween.
I'm listening to Air's 'Moon Safari' and struggling to keep my eyes open (it's nearly 04:00 here), hopefully the aliens will wait until tomorrow afternoon if they feel the need to abduct me, I need my beauty sleep.
Hope all is good with you, happy hubbing.
If you're having problems sleeping then you really should look up Air, they are the group to fall asleep to (I listen to them most nights), very very chilled and dreamy.
I'm sleeping fine, just not at the same times as regular folk.
I was hoping my traffic was here to stay too. Mine didn't quite triple, but it more than doubled during October. Why can't they all come back and visit all my lovely Christmas hubs? LOL
Can they hurry up so I'll feel better? LOL
Before someone chimes in with the good advice I'd give someone else too, I haven't slowed down writing and I'm continuing to research and look for the next hot topic.
I have seen an increase in pageviews on my Christmas hubs, but none of them have taken off like wildfire like my Halloween hubs did.
I have some Halloween hubs that seem to have stopped at the 31st, and a few that are trickling back down.
I set new records for both traffic and earnings this October.
That's awesome! Congrats on setting new records!
About the only one that stopped at the 31st was Pumpkin Carving.
So what do you think it is with the stragglers? My stragglers are about 50/50 between other hubbers and Google searches. I can understand the curiousity factor here because it's still pretty high on the list of "best" hubs. But, to actually still be Googling it? LOL I don't get it.
I just wish they'd click and buy a few things.
Oh YEA! I was going to make one of those wasn't I? Shoot! Oh well I'll get around to it one of these days lol
My Halloween hubs are dead - zero visitors.
My Christmas hubs are starting to pick up. And I have lots more ready for Christmas than I did for Halloween, so my traffic is up quite a bit.
Did you check google analytics to see what keywords your customers were using to get to your site? Did it have the word sale in it? I would think it would be bargain hunters.
What about Thanksgiving hubs? anyone have any of those? was thinking of doing one too...when I get the time of coourse from writing lol
Mine are still getting a bit of traffic but the holiday ones are starting to pick up a bit. I spent the day looking over some things and well still such a newbie I haven't done proper summaries for my hubs. So, just with the few I have done they have already risen a bit. Just glad I caught this before I had a gagillion to go thru.
I have quite a few fall hubs and they're still doing ok. Only 2 Thanksgiving hubs I think.
Nelle, I just checked the analytics and "sale" wasn't part of the keywords they used to find me. "Hub Pages" and "work" were the top words. One was "I had to work on Halloween". LOL
Halloween hub has slowed back down to a trickle of traffic, but is still my highest scored hub.
Not much on the Halloween, but my pumpkin and christmas hubs are doing okay.
I don't think so ...... they must have been reduced in numbers

My favorite tip (currently) is to find related blogs on my hub article, post a nice comment, and use the url to my hub on that topic in the URL box for most blogs. Some do not have this facility so I have to think about what my comment is going to be so that it is valuable to the blogger! If I can...

I just logged into my account and noticed that I have close to 30 hubs that are unfeatured due to engagement? Why did this happen all of a sudden? Is there anything I can do to make them featured again?

Aside from sharing my article links on Facebook, what are some tried and true ways of increasing traffic/reads to our articles? I'm new; 3 weeks in, have 10 published and featured articles so far. I'm trying to figure out what the number on my profile photo means exactly. I know...

I now have 15 hubs. I am hitting 300 pageviews per day. 1 of my hubs on FIFA World Cup 2010 is contributing to 70% of the traffic. There rest of it with 13 hubs hitting 3 to 10 pageviews per day and 1 hub with 0 views most of the time. I am worry that when the World Cup is over, so will my traffic...
