   How long do you leave your Christmas decorations up for?
   
   Some folks take down their Christmas decorations after New Years, and others don't even wait for Santa Claus's foot prints to cool off. Once I left our live Christmas tree up in the basement until well into February. It looked great from a distance, but if you sneezed on it there would all of a sudden be several inches of pine needles on the floor. Looking back now it probably wasn't the smartest move I ever made.

   I usually don't put my Christmas decorations up until the middle of January. Not because of any tradition... Mostly because of sheer laziness.

   One time, we were so lazy we just left some of our decorations out there all year. Which makes it easier because come December, there's less work for you?

      Sounds light a resourceful idea. The only problem that I can see arising is a light bulb getting broke during the year, and then the whole string of lights doesn't work when Christmas rolls around.

      Yeah, you just have to be careful, but if they're high up on your house, it would be difficult to break one anyway.

   Now that the kids are grown, I take stuff down the day after Christmas as I am ready to return to the normal routine.

   I take mine down the day after Christmas.  Usually I'm off of work and won't get it done otherwise after I head back to work.

   This is the weekend that I'm taking them down. The outside decor is gone, now for the inside. Trees and wrapping.

   I usually take mine down on the 5th January, the twelth day of Christmas. It is supposed to be unlucky to leave them up after that.

   I am taking mine down today! 1/3/13 This is the first year I have had a christmas tree since I moved out of my parents house 2 years ago. I think beginning of January is a good time to take the decorations down.

   We take ours down before the New Year rolls in. Usually, the weekend following Christmas I take everything down and put it into storage for the next 50 or so weeks.
   Sometimes it's all broken down and store before the 28th of December. We NEVER let it go past New Year's Eve.
