What is your New Year's Meal Tradition?
Everyone believes in starting off the New Year with a lucky meal, For mine it's always been Black eyed peas and Collared greens.
Our New Year's traditional meal is similar to yours. We make a large pot of lentil soup with steak and salad. It is said that these types of meals bring good luck for the upcoming year.
Happy New Year and I hope you have a wonderful 2013.
Our New Year Meal has always been..Chinese ( home made )...and we are not of Asian background..
egg/spring rolls, hot&sour soup,
pepper steak, white rice with soy sauce, low mein noodles, and lots of Chinese vegetables...also everyone must eat with chop sticks..no forks..we drink a rice/cinnamon drink and green tea. This has been a family custom since I was a child..and now we share it with the Grandchildren...the food does not bloat and cleanses the bodies digestive system, starting the New Year off on the right foot..
good question..look forward to reading what other customs are out there...
