    What are you giving up for lent, besides meat?

    Anything else you're giving up in addition to meat? Thinking of giving up Facebook, Instagram, Sprite/7-Up and sugary drinks.

    From the time I was a kid I've always given UP something for lent. Last year I GAVE. I said yes to time spent with neighbors, friends, acquaintances and schoolmates. It was hard for me to give my time, come out of my shell and reach out to others.  Once I agreed to this God gave me so many opportunities to reach out, it was kind of crazy. ( and not always easy for sure!) I plan to do the same this year.

    Other than avoiding meat on Fridays as a tradition, I do not give up anything specific during Lent; I just try to be mindful of the season, a bit more meditative. Have a nice day.
