Looking forward 2 a brand New Year!  Please share with us......

What are you focused on for the New Year?  Do you have resolutions which you will make a sincere effort to put into action & follow through during the year?

Yeah. I want to make more from this silly website each month than my mother makes from social security. You know how shitty you feel when you have to borrow money from mom alla time? Screw that.

Wes...I understand, although I never felt bad when I borrowed from my mother. WHY? Because I just knew at some point as a Mom, I'd be the one doing the lending!  "The Family circle!"  Your Mama loves you...it's really OK!!  LOL

Paula I have now thought long and hard on this question. More than likely I have overthought it. Keep in mind I am now early to my sixties and without my once lifelong career, my health issues are permanent, and am reassessing my values. Finally I decided this year I will only make two. Keep everything of importance the way it is now and erase the chalk board so I can start over next year. Maybe that is becoming a minimalist in an odd sort of way, yet encompasses all facets of life past, present, and future. That kinda’ gives me a full plate.

I hear U 4 sure,Tim! I am into my LATE 60's & I agree, there's only so much we want 2 change or feel we should. I've always been a minimalist & intend 2 get even better at it. It's like a challenge to me. Clean chalkboard is a good idea!!

Hi Paula!  I'm focussed on finishing the renovation of our bungalow - only had it since Feb this year!  That said, when we've moved it will be a whole new lifestyle with emphasis on the two of us and family where relaxation is the key and staying healthy is the goal.  It will give us a more peaceful location and close proximity to the sea - being by the sea is in my blood and therefore I shall really be 'home'.
I long ago gave up making resolutions for new year.  I'd rather try to aim high each day and make the most of it.
I hope 2017 is a good year for you, full of joy and good health.  Looking forward to reading your work on HP and keeping up with all these lovely friends here.
    Cheers!  Ann

No resolutions, I  have never been good with those anyway. Just focusing on health and if things go well maybe a move to my last home on earth, something I always wanted; private, scenic... and just enjoy every day to the fullest! Maybe help others all I can then in my last years. Sounds like a plan to me. Hope it works out.
All the best to you in the new year!

Paula this is really a good focus of thought. All these New Age Wachos keep telling us to slow down, cross legs, breathe deep and somehow be in the moment which in reality passes as quick as you can say moment.
So you break it down and get really true to the moment. "this moment I think about the future" well you are already there.
So a wise man has a plan. He sets goals in the future. And he adjusts and gives respect to his plan but stays focused on what is good and right. In this the future becomes the now.

A whole lot of garbage isn't it.

I plan on expanding my time to charities from some corporate board work to putting on a coat and hand feeding the gross and homeless. But I admit that that is an end to my goal. I want my family like my young son to get it. Our bounty must include another's solace.
We are doing some crazy stuff next weekend to clean the beach to save Pelicans with my elder son's concert on the beach.
Maybe what I resolve is to not make fun of weird causes ;-)

We can't go wrong when we give of our time & efforts for the good of others. Cause & effect, give & receive.....helping our fellow man is the key to a happy life.  Cheers in 2017!

One of my resolutions-after I finish eating the cookies, cakes and pies from the holidays-is to eat healthier.  I have a Juicer and am going to get back into that.  Plus I am going to attempt Clean Eating-I just got my first subscription in the mail today.  Plus maybe add some exercise into this program.

Another one is to write 4,200 words a week-which averages 600 words a day.  I have three projects I am currently working on and working on writing 1,500 words on two of them and 1,200 words on the other should give me enough time to work on other projects.

To be debt free-well maybe that is not a possibility in a year-unless I win the lottery-so maybe getting about $10,000 reduced from my overall debt-it can be done but will need to plan it out

I think in 2017, I'm really going to throw everything into ... not spending so much time each day reading grouches posted online. This awful habit has dampen my outlook on life, resulted in me being unnecessarily antagonistic towards certain groups of people, on top of skewing my political views. Worse, it's now well-known that most of these grouches are exaggerated or fabricated.

I'd begin by not visiting all several sites or clicking on those sensationalist FB links. Going to require a lot of effort to resist curiosity. But I'm determined, ahem, for now.

CY, Thanks 4 UR honest comment. I'm impressed U admit that some online negative attitudes, can & do affect U in an adverse way. It's also good 2 know that U intend 2 eliminate reading them 2 spend UR time more productively. Great decision, C.Y. !
