Easter represents Christ showing us what everlasting life is, why isn't its symbol evergreen trees?

Rabbits and eggs are fertility symbols which should be the symbols for Christmas, evergreen trees represents everlasting life, I've questioned that eery since childhood b ut have never received a satisfactory answer.

    1. Evergreens already get used for Christmas, so Easter would be duplicative.
    2. Easter celebrates a return to life after death, spring coming after the death of winter, so flowers and NEW life is more important than constantly green / never dying.

With eggs and rabbits being fertility symbols they should be used the natural birth, Christmas. Symbols should be used for what they represent, since evergreens and the resurrection represent eternality, why not reverse them according to the meanings
