To all Moslems here and the world over, I wish take care during the Ramadan Kareem fast.
The body is human not angelic or spirit.
Fasting from 6.00 A.M to 6.00 PM daily for 30 days makes it weak.
    Take care everyone.
    Much thanks.

Thank you for sharing this warning, Miebakagh. I have read that people in certain age categories or people that are ill don't have to participate in the fast. Is that the case where you live?

Linda, It's yes to your last sentence.                                   Nigeria, my country practise Chritianty and Islam, and other pockets of relligions.                                           I've observed instances where persons who are sick, and pregnant ladies(these groups) are forbidden to fast during  Ramadan, but in their zeal for Islam cross the line and get worst.                                                 My neighbour is a moslem, and she's breastfeeding her baby. She's into the fast and yesterday complain of bodily weakness.                                       I'm a student of  Islam in West Africa, and a practising christian. I'm observing and learning. Thank you.

Yes, if you are sick you do not need to fast. It is not that bad actually. Nowadays there is a trend of intermittent fasting and it’s not much different from that. No water or food from dawn till dusk is how it goes. When you are doing your regular activities you can hardly keep track of time. It however gets a bit difficult during summer or extreme winter.
@AliciaC yes the rules are similar for Muslims all around the world.

A nursing mother doesn't need to fast if she feels sick or fears that this may harm the baby. In such a case, she needs to fast the equal number of days she missed when she is better. The rule applies to travellers as well. But if she is feeling fit and strong then she should fast. So if your neighbour feels weak due to fasting then there is no need for her to fast and she can do it later when she is fit. Mild weakness, and dizziness are a daily part of life. I haven’t seen anyone break down health-wise after a month of fasting. In fact, people come out stronger. It’s a month of detoxification and not just from food, but from all impurities that exist in our minds and surroundings. It’s a month of healing. Thank you Miebakagh57 for bringing this to light.

Farah, I've noted that for years as a student of Islam in West Africa in my History class.                               However, you're welcome.

Miebakagh57, that’s good to know that you studied Islam in your history classes. I am a Muslim btw and my country is a Muslim majority country. So I am telling you from my experience plus the knowledge of the religion I practice from birth. People often deviate from the actual rules while practicing religion and that can cause problems. So it is important to know if the problems you noticed were because of that. Blessings to you...
