I first heard the Mormon Tabernacle Choir singing about 10 years ago, shortly after I discovered torrent files, actually.
Do you know of anyone who sings Christmas songs better?
The first name that popped into my mind was Bing Crosby.
Nah you're having a laugh!
I love Bing Crosby and White Christmas and a million other popular songs. But Away in a Manger or Silent night, or some of the more traditional Christmas songs, who sings it better than a choir?
It's a simple question. Who sings it better that the Mormon Tabernacle?
I wish they had an easier name to type!
What about the Cambridge Singers?
Check these out:

and many more - and there are many other beautiful singing groups too.
But yes, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir has a wonderful sound.
I can't listen to them for another 2 days (when my new month starts as my internet has been slowed because some hacking B has got into my account), but I look forward to it.
I love choral music at Christmas, its better than any pop song.
Grumpers!! I forgot about that problem. So, can I send you a CD or DVD or choral Christmas music? - so you won't have to use up all of your internet minutes enjoying something that you could keep around all the time even without the internet? Well, I guess two days is not too bad - it's not an eternity, anyway.
What a lovely gesture!! But no, thanks very much all the same
I can use other people's connections to download torrents, if I want the music to play over while offline.
Not now, obviously , because I have to go out with laptop with me to grab a free wifi connection.
And I don't leave the house much these days...
But this will force me to go, if I want the songs badly enough.

I'm not religious, but I just love this choir! Their conductor should be very proud getting them all to sing together so well! And they are the only choir I want to hear at Christmas time, no-one else does it better IMO.

Should the Mormon Tabernacle Choir perform at Trump's inauguration? The Mormon Church criticized Trump before the election, but now the official choir of the church is supposed to sing at his inauguration. What gives?

We had a nice discussion about celtic music last night. I discovered a new band, Seven Nations Tonight how about talking about folk music of other kinds tonight. I'm thinking mainly of 60s protest songs. We don't seem...
