If you believe: Does believing JESUS came to the earth as The Human Manifestation of GOD, Who was nailed to a cross at Calvary, only to be resurrected three days later as part of God's Plan, His Divine act of Sacrificial Substitution and Atonement for every sin you'll ever commit against God (past, present, future) make you want to know God better? Or do you celebrate for another reason, one not related to Jesus at all?
We celebrate this time of year to honor the Spring Equinox and new beginnings. Nothing to do with Jesus.
Thanks for your response, Dale.
I've just been to your Hub Profile Page and noticed that you are a Wiccan High Priest. Totally the opposite of what I am.
You're right. The celebration you enjoy has nothing to do with Jesus. However, this is the more honest practice of the worship of Easter... which is actually an English way to say, the name "Ishtar" or "Astarte".
May I ask you: how do you feel about the fact that Jesus died for you? You see, even though you don't worship Him, He Still Loves you. Up until you possess a mortal body, the BLOOD He Shed on that Cross of Calvary, secures a place for you in His Kingdom, if ever you decide to repent of your ungodly choices. Once your mortal body is extinguished, your opportunity to receive His Forgiveness for your sins will be extinguished too.
You don't have to answer. However, if you do, please keep in mind I would really like this discussion to be free of personal assaults. I have my Faith in THE LIVING GOD.
You have yours. We can be different and still discuss this issue. We can choose never to agree; however, we each have a right to our own beliefs.
Thanks again for responding.
Hello EmVeeT,
I believe that Jesus, The Christ existed, as history proves that. I also classify him among the Great Teachers of all times, a man of wisdom, understanding, compassion and love, who shared a simple message that was pure.
As for what He may have done for me, I don't believe that He did anything for me as an individual. His wisdom is the gift He left with the world.
Forgiveness and sin? Well, we don't actually believe in the concept of sin in the terms that Christianity does. We know when we do "wrong" and we strive to correct that wrong in this lifetime.
I honor and respect All Paths, including Christianity, and I believe that whatever Path a person finds themselves on at this point in their life, is the correct Path for them, leading to the Divine.
As for personal assault, lol, I don't argue religion nor condone those that do, so no worries from me. You asked some questions that I felt were worth an answer.
I appreciate your view. Thank you for considering my questions worth answering.
I read on your Page that you were taught a loose version of Christianity. I believe you. I also understand why you began searching. Loose Christianity doesn't satisfy many. In fact, it is so full of generalities, that the 'paths' you mention a person following branch off in various forms right from there.
You don't believe in the concept of sin. What about crime?
You believe a person can correct themselves, does that mean trying harder, or coming back to repeat the opportunity to offset an offense, at a later date, in a different body?
You don't have to answer actually. My questions are rhetorical. I know enough about what you believe and actually have friends that "used to be Wiccans".
I don't consider your view of Jesus to be correct. However, I believe you knew that I wouldn't see it as you see it. He Is not among the Great Teachers of all time, a man of wisdom, understanding, compassion and love. He Is GOD. And, the day will come when every other god shall declare Him Sovereign. Every knee shall bow to Him. In the meantime, He Extends His Grace, something no other god has ever done for their followers.
Please don't take any of what I have said as though I am shouting at you. The reason I sometimes hate internet discussions is that they keep expression out of the equation. I don't agree with you; however, I am not shouting at you to stress any of what I have just shared. I am simply clarifying my view, again, very different from yours.
Dale, thanks for sharing. I'm sure you are not alone in your particular manner of celebration.
Please don't take it the wrong way when I say, "GOD BLESS you! in JESUS, THE MESSIAH, by THE POWER of HIS HOLY SPIRIT, for HIS NAME'S SAKE! Amen.

Christianity I see as the following of and the belief through faith, in the teachings of Jesus Christ and the acceptance through faith that Jesus is God.Roman Catholisism embraces most, but not all of Jesus teachings but not all, and then interjects different teachings into the Roman Catholic...

Okay, I've really taken an interest in the forums for the last few days as I need something to keep my mind off of something. I've noticed a few things and came up with a few theories on HubPages groupthink. Thought it be fun to test them out, so here goes:I, technically, am a Unitarian...

When someone praised him and referred to him as ‘good’ as mentioned in the gospel of Mark, Jesus was quick to point out that he was not worthy of any praise and that ‘ No one is good but God alone’.Jesus was a humble human being and held the Creator God in high esteem

In Christianity, do non believers go to hell? What happens to the people that believe in another religion and another God. If the Christian God is the only true God, then are those people damned?
