Saying Hello To A Neighbour

Updated on December 31, 2010

Saying Hello To A Neighbour

This is just a short nonsense poem about saying hello to a neighbour and the dangers it can bring!

Across the street i saw a neighbour of mine

So i shouted over, "Hi Jean"

She looked straight at me

Like i'm some sort of lesser being.

She came over and stood right in front

of me

Saying things that were obscene

I didn't know what she was talking about

What the hell did she mean.

"How did you know about that" she said

"About my personal hygiene"

"There was no need to be so rude

I always try to stay clean".

Things were getting out of hand

These crazy things she said

We were standing there arguing

Both faces going red.

I told her i saw her Walking by

So i just called out Hi Jean

I didn't want to cause any trouble

I didn't want this crazy scene.

She looked at me in disbelief

And let out a little groan

"This is all because you called me Jean

Don't you know my name is Joan".

The moral of this story

If you don't want any blame

Is when you say Hi to someone

Make sure you get their right name.

well I can tell you my ex neighbour is a lot creepier than Jean. He used to use his infra red binoculars and spied on me through his window. He didn't even have the decency to do it in secret. He made sure I knew he was watching me!!

      Nice one again Michael!

lol, lmao, I'm guilty of being terrible with names. SO I'll take heed and be careful not to shout out a name lest I be sure its the right one! Well Done :)

This is a brilliant concept. I love the word play. Hi Jean and hygiene is something I've thought of before too but never thought to write about it like you did. Well done! And the Joan twist at the end was classic.
