Twas The (hubbers) Night Before Christmas

Updated on March 14, 2013

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through Hubpages,

Not a member was frustrated at the absence of wages.

All the counting of followers and fretting over traffic,

Was left to the cold-hearted Scrooge-like fanatic.

The best of the hubbers were just happy to be there,

Writing to write and content just to share.

marcoujor in her pajamas and me in mine too,

Blabbering at three am with nothing else to do.

When across the board we could sense something brewing,

So we snooped around to see what the hubbers were doing.

I clicked my mouse and needed not to go far,

"There's a brand new hub just published by lone77star!"

bravewarrior and fpherj48 then suddenly appeared,

Hub after hub, “look there’s one by Captain Redbeard”.

It was such a great treat getting to read all these folks,

Like little digital visits from pals like K9keystrokes.

But it was late at night, it's now time to go,

Time to log-off and say goodnight to Docmo.

Goodnight to Gypsy Rose Lee and to MartieCoetser and to Sunnie Day,

Goodnight and sweet dreams and nothing more to say.

One after another all the hubbers had flown,

Even A Troubled Man went to bed and left the Christians alone.

But I heard ImKarn23 exclaim as my screen lost it’s light,

“Happy Christmas to all and to all a goodnight!”

Mickey, this is too funny. But I think HP dropped you again from my followers. I found this because Maria commented and I was notified. I was never notified of your original post, nor was I notified of your December Perspectives post. I'm beginning to get a complex. Have you been dropped twice or have you dumped me twice?! :(

Leslie, This POOP is a shameless PLUG for National Constipation Month and I can think of no one whose comment STREAM deserves this more.

Sunnie, Do we really need to encourage this thing we know he will be the Easter bunny...

      Oh hey, Mickey...what's shakin bacon?

Mickey......I was either sleep-walking or you were hallucinating due to sleep deprivation. At 3 a.m.......I can promise you, it wasn't me!

This is delightful! You made my day and I thank you. Just in time to cheer me up! Wishing a Holiday of Peace. Love and Joy to you and yours.

i giggled through the entire poem - beginning to end - mostly cause you're such a damned recluse! i see now why the girls abuse you so liberally - maria's given me the poop..

      i'm a bit of a recluse myself, but - i trust my hub-buds!

Thanks for the mention, Mickey...'Merry Christmas to all - and to YOU a good night'xx

      ps. love the self-portrait..haha

Oh, this is a heartwarming fantasy - spending a Christmas Eve with my 'family' in hubpages. I am sure we will have a ball, and maybe Santa will take us for a ride to the moon and back. Thanks, Mickey, for this unexpected fantasy. I regard you as family online, whether you like it or not. I wish you an yours a merry Christmas and the happiest New Year :)

I like it. Nice humorous hub. Email the HP team about the dupe content warning. It might be a bug or the automatic filters picked up on it because of the title.
