Unequalled Love - Original Sad Poem

Updated on March 23, 2012

In my room, besides my bed

They’ll find many pages, crumbled to death

I was often found with a pen, blank pages

And thoughts of you

There is a garden seldom blossoms

A pair of flowers never happy

They miss their happiness, sunshine,

blooming petals and the scent of you.

In between the dawn and the twilight

Your memories illuminating the half-light

Is a sight to witness, when gather;

A river, some pebbles and dreams of you.

Perfect, flawless and serene

Matchless and ideal that have always been

Though lacking and missing now

Some cuddles, hugs, kisses and you.

We are not together,

Courtesy of an unequalled love

The only things that are left behind now

Some paints, a canvas, your face and me.

Oh, ouch! this one hurts. I hope it is only a poem and not a lament for lost love. Very compelling.

@Lucky Cats: It is just a poem and not a lament :P

It is such a privilege that many a times, people ask me the same questions. I am starting to feel a bit more proudy :P lol.

Thank you so much for your comment :)

It was a touching poem. I am truly gald to read that is only a poem, and not a true lament of a love lost with all the pain that would bring.

Although, for me, it is just a poem; for many people it could be a true lament of a love lost and they could relate to it. I hope everybody live with peace and love.

This was really great! It left a lump in my throat. I liked the phrases you used: crumbled to death, the scent of you, and then your last line "The only things that are left behind now Some paints, a canvas, your face and me." This last line was the summation of loss that the lover felt, such sadness, grief, loss, and emptiness - having to accept the finality of their fate.

@Homesteadbound: You are very few of those fellow hubbers who really judge a hub on its merit and goes deep inside to find the actual meaning of those words and phrases and that is why I really adore you. Thank you so much for being a wonderful part of my writing journey. :)

The imagery created by the words in your poem is beautiful. The photographs you included were perfect. I enjoyed reading this very much.
