Do you think it is possible for one to make millions from writing books?
Of course! Lots of people have done it - Stephen King, Nora Roberts, Stephanie Meyers. It's most definitely possible!
I think a better question would be: is it likely to happen? And the answer to that one depends on so many factors that it's nearly impossible to answer, IMO. I would say that it's dependent on the genre in which you choose to write, the audience you choose to target, how you choose to publish (traditional or ebooks) and whether you choose to expand your market a bit - just the books or do you plan to merchandise beyond that...movies, etc.
Most importantly, however, is that if you dream of making millions writing books, you need to nourish your dreams, and WRITE!
Best of luck to you!
One thing people forget is that all the authors you mention had EDITORS. They didn't just write a book and get it published - they spent months working with a professional editor, polishing the book until it was ready for publication.
If you write a book and you believe it's ready to be published right away, you may THINK you're a good writer but you're probably an amateur. Professional writers understand the importance of revising and editing until their words are polished to perfection - and they understand that they themselves are the worst judges of when that point is reached. Many will seek critiques from other writers before they even start working with a professional editor.

What if you have been given a chance to choose a different path in life, if that happens, would you still continue your career as a writer or would you just make yourself a millionaire as an entrepreneur?
