What author writes the best book about fantasy? Why would you recommend them?
I suggest Oscar Wilde's The Picture of Dorian Grey. It shows man's immoral lifestyle and their sins. It also shows fantasy by having an immortal main character. This book is a classic defamed in its time. This book I surely recommend.
The best book about fantasy? Truthfully, I can't answer that question. The best book about writing fantasy? The best book about the genre? Which?
I've mentioned this author previously, and this is the perfect question to answer for him. John Marco. Definitely check out this very accomplished and popular fantasy author. He has written two main trilogies so far, Tyrants and Kings and the Lukien Trilogy (for which he's planning a fourth book). Recently, he has written the first chapter of the Skylords series, Starfinder. All are so EXCELLENTLY written with wonderous detail and an especially keen eye to the military aspect and battle scenes. The stories are intricate and full, with plenty of memorable characters. A very highly-recommended read for YA and up.
Anne McCaffrey. Her novels are a great read and draw you right into the story line, Her dragonrider series is one of my favorites, but I have read almost all of her books
