I would have to say, the poet themself. smile

Carefully chosen words spoken or written by an individual, yet, felt and heard by many.  Poetry to me is a sacred bound form the mind to the fingers.  It holds the true feelings in the heart.  Fragile as it is, it seems to link all of these together and release what is to be said, rather than, what will be said. smile

The ability to inspire. Inspire, thought, emotion, dreams, actions, and to inspire inspiration.

Someone who is passionate about what they are writing. Who no matter how long or short their poem is, the readers understand and feel what the writer intended them to feel.

A great heart! Without heart there is no poetry.

"A Ready Writer" is my idea of a model Poet,it is one of my hubs.A great Poet is a great thinker,a distant person,a challenger of "Pen to Paper Presentations".

A great poet is someone who writes from the heart-it could be about anything, but as long as you pour yourself into it, your message will shine through:-).
