What is Your Favorite Classic Novel, and Why?

Mine are Pride an Prejudice and Tess. I just simply love reading these two classics again and again.

In this rarefied air, you might have to define Classic, and favorite.  I have never met a writer who didn't have a love of reading that knew few if any favorites.

Great Expectations. Great plot with funny and believable characters. Part 1 of this novel is the most entertaining and enjoyable piece of writing i've ever seen. (Part 1 of Oliver Twist is also great.) Joe Gargery and Uncle Pumblechook are two of my favorite characters.

Wuthering Heights--I've been reading it a at least once a year since I was thirteen. I always find new things in it, and remembering how I reacted to/felt about the story over the years shows me how I've grown and changed.
