Humans are complex beings and i think it all depends on the mood of the individual. For instance could you be moved by a hip hop song? Or a nonsense poem? Some people are. I suppose the same rules apply as in the saying "beauty is in the eye of the beholder."
So remember next time you hear someone listening to Tupac they may be getting all emotional.
Hmmmmm, though one!! I think both are equally provocative, depending on the subject, at least for me. Music is more persuasive and with poems your mind can sort of create the scene, then again you can do that with music too. I think they are equal!! Good question!!
Isn't (lyrical) music supposed to be just sung poetry? Though, from what I have seen, music evokes more emotion than any other form of art. Look at the most vicious online arguments. 90% of them involve music. It defines our character, embeds our emotions so naturally that music could not possibly fall deaf (no pun intended) on our souls. The instruments, the beats, the harmonies, the vocals, all blended in surreal exaltation. A climax of thought and feeling. In a word, beautiful.

A few months ago, Pratonix stated that poetry should be compact, in good form, and without spelling error. It was argued that poetry can be anything. I agree with Pratonix. Gushing emotion in poetry is as bad as gushing emotion in reality. It's uncontrolled. Poetry...
