Is it for the money or the pleasure ?

I was all excited when I first discovered Hubpages, at the thought of making a small fortune quickly and easily. It didn't take time for me to realise I was so wrong. But then I found I was actually enjoying  thinking about what Hubs I could write about. More so I enjoyed writing short snappy articles that didn't require me to seek out a publisher to reach some kind of audience, and that I could complete these  in only a few hours. I began enjoying writing purely for the pleasure of writing itself.

How about you, why are you on here  ?

The pleasure. I enjoy writing for my own satisfaction. I just always believe I have to write more often and this is motivation for doing so.

I, too, began with the idea that I could earn some $, be published and exercise my writing muscle. Now, I'm becoming addicted to the writing. It's the one place in my life I don't HAVE to do a thing a certain way. I can say what I want the way I want to; I can write everyday and be expressive. I'm taking more pictures for use on my blogs. I'm reading more and more hubs and enjoying the pseudo relationships that I (imagine) I have with the other hubbers. I'm here, they're here, so we must have an affinity for Hubpages in common. Thanks for allowing me to express myself once again.

I think it's a bit of both.  Writing is my passion - but I also enjoy working on my own terms as a freelance creative (I do web design, blogs, graphic arts - lots of things)

I believe I should earn a living doing what I love, and hubpages (and my personal sites) allow me to do that.  I am still building up steam of course and look forward to a long and joyful writing (and creating) career smile

To be able to earn decent money from HubPages you need to write a lot, and keep your focus, motivation and determination.

Like with any success nothing can ever come easily and quickly.

And to be able to do all that you need to love what you're doing.

For me, I write what I like and what I believe others like too, and it gives me personal satisfaction and fulfilment.

I know if I continue doing what I enjoy, money will come too, with time.

For money...I freelance for sites like Elance and have clients who choose the titles and keywords, etc.  Content stuff.

For pleasure...hubpages is where it's at.  Eventually I will get to that novel as it is my ultimate goal but at least here there is a freedom of expression where I can write the things I know and love.
