Nutella was orginally called Supercrema. It was modified and re-named Nutella in 1963. I tried adding a snapshot of the pronunciation, but it's too small sad The editor here doesn't accept transcription signs.

'Nut' as in 'peanut', then 'ella' as the girl's name (short 'e' like 'net').  I first came across it in France about 50 years ago; it was ages until it came to Britain but has been a favourite here ever since - naughty but nice!

I pronounce it new tella. It is delicious but not as healthy as the commercials would lead you to believe. It has a ton of sugar in it.

It's pronounced new thella.  The T is pronounced as a 'th' sound.  the ella is pronounced like the girls name ella.

I pronounce Nutella as new-tel-la. I don't know how to make that spelling any clearer.
