Who has self-published an ebook and what was your experience?

A great hub might explain the step-by-step process of ebook self-publishing.

I claim to be writing an ebook in serial form, right here on hub pages.

It is a fiction story and as it is on line I feel justified in calling it that.

However I suspect you may have in mind a finished book put up in one place for anyone to download, presumably at some cost.

I am not really interested in taking it any further at this stage, considering the relatively poor response, taking into account how many readers there are on the internet I can scarcely claim any success.

I hope someone else may be able to answer your question more specifically to give you what you want

I've got 3 e-books self published, although i've been way to busy to do any selling of them or advertising, a few have been downloaded for free to family members. its a lot of fun seeing them in book form, and thankfully i have a friend here IRL that does book binding, all i have to do now is print them and design the covers smile

there are a lot of online places to publish your e-books, you can even do them in digital form if you chose to.
    lulu.com, blurb.com are just two..
when i first joined hp, i wrote a hub on self publishing, i know there's hundreds of others on the same topic so do a search and find the best ones to help you smile

I've self-published ebooks in the form of a novella, two short stories, and a non-fiction work through Amazon and Barnes and Noble. I did it mainly so that I could learn how the process worked, especially with the Kindle Select program. I covered a lot of ground with the experience, including editing, cover design, formatting/conversions, and HTML coding. I don't have an inspiring success story like some of the people you will read about, but I did learn quite a bit and found it satisfying on a personal level just to have done it. I've been toying with the idea of doing a series of hubs on my experiences and the resources I used. Maybe I'll put that plan into action in the near future.
