Some people think that it is. Personally, I just think talent should stand on its own merit.
I agree that writers need a charisma that suits for the material they compose.
It depends on what you are writing... I do a lot of research writing; sometimes I see people who act really dumb or are really bizarre and I tend to not trust their writing as much.
