Favorite lyrics of a song that you always remember?
Music means a lot to almost everyone. What is the favorite lyrics of a song that you always remember? Why do you kept on remembering it? Does it inspire you? Is it connected with an experience in the past?
"I used to be a little boy
So old in my shoes
And what i choose is my choice
What's a boy supposed to do?
The killer in me is the killer in you
I send this smile over to you"
This line from Disarm by the Smashing Pumpkins gets me every time. Perhaps it just reminds me of my childhood, or maybe it's the music connected to the words, but I have a strong emotional tie to it. It appeals to a wide variety of emotions I may be feeling, whether love, hate, or anything else.
Step out the front door like a ghost
Into the fog where no one notices
The contrast of white on white.
And in between the moon and you
Angels get a better view
Of the crumbling difference between wrong and right.
And I walk in the air between the rain, through myself and back again
Where? I don't know
The lyrics are very meaningful. When I read it, it makes me think of a person getting out of his/her shell.
There from the counting crows song around here love that song. Back in the day the counting crows really knew how to right a song.
If I had written the lyric for "Wind Beneath My Wings" (and I wish I had), it would perfectly chronicle the best relationship of my life...just as it does in someone else's words. I love to listen to that song, enjoying the beautiful melody and phrases that evoke happy memories.
"Did you ever know that you're my hero
and everything I would like to be
I can fly higher than an eagle
You are the wind beneath my wings"*
*From WIND BENEATH MY WINGS by Jeff Silber and Larry Henley
Having someone truly believe in you is a wonderful gift, especially when it helps you believe in yourself.
Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...
these lyrics as they depict the ideal world many of us desire.. I just love it and they are so beautiful fill my heart with peace and calmness. As I am still 18 so I haven't experienced much pain of set back or major sadness not have been on an amazing road of my life I have lived each day in a regular routine so I have no story to share about me, but still this song share something in common with me..that is the imagination of an ideal world.

i hope that i wont be that wrong any more
maybe i'll learn this time
i hope that i find what i'm reaching for
the way that it is in my mind
some day i'll get over you
i'll live to see it all through
but i'll always miss dreamin my dreams with you
"dreamin my dreams" originaly by waylon jennings, covered more recently by jamye johnson (quite well i might add)
when the one thing you wanted to get right in life goes wrong,... this song summed it up perfectly,... you tell yourself that you are more than what you have endured, more than the sum total of you anguish,... but you know its BS
