What is the best Text Editor For Free?

Often, when we copy a URL such as our affiliate links, or even a document from Word, there is an embedded code that does all kinds of crazy things when you paste them to another site, etc. My question is how do you do, what they call clean links? I understand that you need to us a good text editor? Not even sure what a text editor since you can edit content in word, on hub pages after you paste your hub, etc.

On Windows, use Note Pad, which is included in Windows. On the Mac, download Bare Bones free TextWrangler.

But if you don't mind losing bold and italics, just save your Word document as Text.

Or draft your Hub right in the Hub Pages editor, remembering to SAVE OFTEN.
