How long is the best length for a hub to be?
I'm writing a hub about globalisation and I'm wondering whether to leave it as one hub or split it into two, and link it in. Long hubs seem to put people off is this true?
The hub is quite long but I can't seem to find a obvious place for a break any ideas?
I am glad you asked this question because I've been wondering myself.
Years ago, the wisdom was that articles should be between 400 and 800 words. Back then, anything over a 1,000 words was considered off putting.
But that was back before articles became multi-media extravaganzas. I know that on the Learning Center page it reads that 1,500 word articles are one of the marks of a stellar hub. I think, but don't know for sure, that that is probably because it takes at least that many words to make the formatting look proper and proportionate to all the media one needs to make the article engaging.
I think too that perhaps due to the Google changes, one's rank is now based on considerations other than just SEO such as the length of time a reader spends on a page.
However, I do wonder how much is too much, so thanks again for asking.
I normally set myself a target of at least 500 words and at the most 1000. How many words is your globalisation hub?
800 is the standard, 500 the minimum and about 2000 is the maximum (but this depends heavily on the topic - 2000 words on the pros of preening your eyebrows would not be interesting to most!)
I always had the understanding that a good hub is at least around 500 words or so, but longer hubs are fine too.
I wouldn't go under 500 and no more than 1200. That's what I go by. If you have 800, do it as is. That's a good size.

Is it better to make one large hub that covers all aspects of your topic or to separate those several aspects on a topic into two or three hubs. I'm wondering how this plays out in terms of each of the following:...

Do you think it is a good idea to turn in articles less than 500 words?I have read some really short hubs lately that must have gone up really fast. Do you think this is a bad idea? Does it affect the views?
