Hi, my top three are all women. I use to read books by men, but then realised that the women were ten times better! lol!
    1. Diana Gabaldon. She has written at least 8 books in the series Outlander, a time travelling adventure that starts in the 1940s, a nurse goes through the Stones, like Stonehenge and arrives back in the 1700's at the time of the Scottish war with England at Culloden. The characters are so real everybody is in love with Jamie Fraser the main character.
    2. Kresley cole. She has written at least 13 books of vampires, witches warlocks demons and so on. They are full of adventure, adult content! and very sexy! fantastic!
    3. Richelle Mead. Just discovered her, her books have humor, vamps and succubus, the main character is working for hell, but she is very funny! well worth reading.

    1. Stephen King
    2. Harlan Coben
    3. James Patterson

They are all wonderfully suspenseful writers who use just the right touch of humor in the perfect situations.

    My choices would be
1....Dean Koontz ....if I want to be scared
2...Tom Clancy ......if I am in the mood for a military and political thriller
    3...Clive Cussler.....for a great "cliff-hanger".

Carlene Thompson, Wendy Corsi Staub, and Sandra Brown.  I love "who-done-it's" and these gals know how to grab you and make you never want to put the book down!   Reading is my bedtime-forget my day-don't think about tomorrow time so connecting to a character is essential for me in order to really get involved in the stories. I just finished Sandra Browns "Hello Darkness", excellent!  Carlene Thompson is my all time favorite however.  You cannot go wrong with any of her books if you like these thrillers smile

Appears so. No wonder hollywood has made movies of few of his books and that too generating decent revenues.

Huxley, his wit, and ability to handle multiple dialogue.
Orwell for his towering immagination when pointing up society.
Both Huxley and Orwell for encouraging questioning the future of society.
Gibson for writing stories that are un-put-downable.
