Val shows us how someone fears Success

Val...
I've known a few like this that get so close to what they really desire...but then they intentionally let it slide away.
Great write.
This is so true. Many people are conditioned to accept mediocrity as normal. They have been inculcated in the premise that while it is good to be MODERATELY successful, it is somehow egregious to be HIGHLY successful. They have been taught that to achieve inordinate success is a moral transgression. Such indoctrination is a modern outgrowth of the seven deadly sins e.g. greed.
Also in lower income families, they are taught not to dream "too big" & to just settle for mere survival. People from lower income backgrounds are taught that success is way beyond their reach & purview. They are inadvertently told to "stay in their place" & that success are for "other people", not them.
Brenda -- Personally, I was born with no ambition, just with this strong passion for discovering the unknown and uncovering the hidden. So much more to discover and uncover that "success" would be impossible. -- Thanks for reading.
Val...
You make me smile.
You have success every day that you discover or uncover those secret hidden paths along your journey.
Thank you for sharing this, Brenda.
Yes, as Val says many of us are afraid of success, or taking the risks involved to achieve it. Everyone has different concepts of what success is. For me it is doing everything I attempt to the best of my ability. I am ambitious by continually wanting to better what I have done before. Having untold riches and status means nothing to me.
