Val has written us a poem for the word prompt, "Generations"
It's worth the time to stop and read it.
It's quite good.

Val....
Your poem, " Generations Change -- People Don't: A Satirical Poem" really makes a great point.
First off...I love that picture of the couple on the bench.
Back in the day it was a newspaper, now like you say...teenagers use their smartphones and hold no conversations.
Now, back to your poem...
Each generation has its own way of life, but nothing really changes our human traits.
We are the same. We feel the same inside...even if we have momentary lapses as the quote by Chad Kultgen suggests.
People don't change.
The new generation doesn't change a thing. We keep repeating the same manner of life with just a slightly different version of things like music.
We still love. We still hate.
And yes...there is still that special beverage that makes us feel like winners even if we are losing the battle.
Val...
This is a wonderful piece of writing.
Thank you for joining us this time.
I realize you stepped out of your true character for a moment, but trust me...it's worth it.
This is great ink.
I'll post a link in the word prompt article
This is a good poem by Val, meeting the prompt “generation” very well. Each generation thinks it is better than the next…better values, better taste in music, smarter etc etc….but despite things appearing different on the surface, most of the basics stay the same. Some things may skip a generation, but what goes around usually comes around again.
Thanks for sharing this, Brenda.
John...
It is true about each generation.
I remember how my parents didn't enjoy the music i listened to and now the cycle repeats.
Everything stays the same.
Val has created a thought-provoking poem. It’s interesting to think about the basic characteristics of humans that haven’t changed over many years. I enjoy reading compositions that make me consider what the author has said.
I enjoyed Val's satirical poem about changes (or not) through the generations. Thanks for highlighting his work, Brenda.
Peggy..
It's great to see you. I hope everything is going well & you've started to settle in your new place
Wow! I don't know if I should clap or run. I enjoy reading Val's work; it is so unique. I do wonder if he smiles or frowns when he is composing his works of art.
Thanks Brenda--You are the best always taking time to share.
Bobbi Purvis
It makes me very happy to see all of you gals -- and John -- like my poem. Purvis Bobbi, my soul is smiling all the time while I am writing my satirical pieces. I am never bitter, never pissed at this world which keeps tickling that satirist in me. But I do understand it's sometimes hard to tell, considering my choice of words, lol. I am a chronically happy dude.

What were people complaining about in 1957? Can you relate? Have they changed? Are they complaining about common things still common today? What about culture or society?

What does it mean when some people say "We are the product of our time".Our values, the way we live are mold by personal circumstances or there are more bigger structures which are beyond us that is why we are, the way we are?
