Val tells us about a few strange abilities he has observed.

I wonder...does anyone else notice they have a few.

Interesting Val...I wonder if it's your eyes...or rather you can hear that tiny ant.

Healing by using our palms sounds quite amazing.

My Dad says to rub your ears if you are in pain...and it goes away.

Lots of mystic things we don't understand...but if it works...it works.

Interesting abilities. The power of the mind is amazing, more of us need to realise the ability to self-heal. I also share the ability to read the finest print on everything and my wife takes good advantage of that. Thank for the article, Val, and for sharing, Brenda.

John -- I would guess, you are wearing those glasses for far seeing, because you ARE wearing them. I don't wear them for anything, even don't use sunglasses, because I don't want anything on my face. And my body's "thermostat" is quite strange, as I hardly ever feel cold in harsh Canadian winters, nor I feel too hot at summer. Currently we are having a winter storm, and my wife had to tell me to put socks on when I was going out to clean the snow and ice from my car. I was going to just put my running shoes on, no socks, no boots.
So, I am not only an oddball in my head, but also with my body, LOL. But I've done a lot of meditation, qigong, pranayama breathing, self-hypnosis, 20 hour fasting every day and other similar crap to become this way. Well, some people like their comfort zone -- I love pushing my limits, often enjoying in feeling uncomfortable, just for the challenge of it.
I'm glad you guys like my article.

Agh..that snowstorm has crossed the world.

Use those boots. .u might slip n fall.

Glad your wife is there to remind you.

      Merry Christmas

Brenda -- Looks like you missed the point, which was NOT that I have to be
"reminded" -- like an old, forgetful fart, not to catch cold -- but the point was that I've been many times in cold weather without being dressed properly and it didn't affect me, because my inner "thermostat" was working so well. When I was younger and doing yoga, I used to take some snow from the ledge of my bathroom window and rub my body with it. So, THAT was my point, but it's O.K., sweetie, I am used to it that people pick an unimportant detail from what I wrote and comment to that.
Merry Christmas -- by the way, we actually like it white.

    Val...
I got your point, but you missed mine.

A few of us actually care what happens to you...so as your friend...
I don't want you to slip & fall.

I'd hate to think of you lying there in the cold in pain...
It's great that your body heals itself...
But don't push the limit too far.

White Christmas is great.  Just not the bitter cold for me.

Merry Christmas and have a great time.

For some reason...sledding sounds fun...but unfortunately that's not possible in these temps.

    Have a great day.

Brenda -- I certainly appreciate your caring, while at the same time this is proving my point I made in one of my poems -- that we, hubbers, know awfully little about each other, with all just succeeding to superficially present ourselves one way or another.
Albeit so many prefer to stay totally unknown beyond their name, which is fine as well.
Namely, at this age of 78, I can afford to push my limits, because I am really in a shape of someone in their 50's, if not younger. For fun I run outside on an icy surface and slide -- never, ever fell down. I still haven't seen a doctor in over 16 years, don't use any over the counter meds, fall asleep in 3 minutes, can eat like a shark never having any digestive issues, and please stop me before I start bragging about some other things that you don't want to know about, LOL.
All in all, I am in a condition in which I should express my concerns about many of you younger hubbers.
Of course -- again -- I am touched by your care, but what I do for my psycho-physical shape is bordering with Spartan routine, including exchanging hot-and-cold showers, so "cold" is not really an issue for me.
And, as you can see, I am not "keeping it a secret here", but "bragging shamelessly", LOL. People share about their depressions, anxieties, fears, uncertainties -- well, I choose to share what happens to be my personal reality.

      Val...
      I love that about you.

You are a superb person  ...that I truly enjoy knowing.

I can only imagine the other things...and that's okay.

I hope to be as strong as you one day...as soon as I unlock all those secrets.

      Believe me...I'm trying.

Life is meant to be lived.  Not sitting around complaining about my ails ..or misfortune.

I believe I will get there.  Thats half the battle.

      Merry Christmas & truly know...
I'm just concerned as a friend.

Take care...&;i hope to make it my seventies...but that's askimg alot.

Unless I unveil thise secret tunnels.

Bravo John! Now you just need the x-rays specs that show you what's REALLY  on your own mind and heart! That would make you qualified as a true mind-and-heart-reader, since that's what people usually keep in a blind spot. Ask our friend Misbah, if she is planning to get some too. LOL.

Misbah -- My "specialties" are REALISTIC, "yours" are SARCASM -- and the only question remains, why it was necessary, if not prompted by sheer malicious envy. I asked John a very logical question after he had said how "he could also read the fine print" -- while everybody could see that he was wearing glasses on all photos except on the current one. So I asked if his glasses were just for far seeing -- that's all. It was clear that I had talked about reading fine print WITHOUT glasses in my hub, so why even mention that ability if it's WITH the use of glasses -- everybody wearing glasses could do that.
It's amazing how people rush to belittle someone's simple sharing of his pleasure of being in a good health.
Ask me if I give a rat's ass -- just finding it quite pathetic, not without also  being amused by it.
If you want to write about your realistic abilities, I will be the first to applaud. I am just a part of a whole subculture of MANY OTHERS who are passionately exploring their unused potential -- NOT a "superman". So, there was no need to talk about a superman's "ex-ray glasses", and there was even less a need for you to disclose your own agreement with that sarcasm.
Well, like they say -- we learn something new every day.
When you have a healthy argument for a discussion, go ahead; when you don't, the chances are that you may only embarrass yourself. I'm too old, and possibly too smart for this kind of envious crap.

    1. Jodah profile image86
Jodahposted 2 years agoin reply to this

You were talking about reading fine print close-up, Val. I have never worn glasses to do that, or for reading in my life, and one of my old photos was sunglasses. Whether I wear glasses for long distance viewing was irrelevant. The whole thing is about “abilities” which I mentioned. I know what is in my own mind and heart. Where was “malicious envy” in anything I said, a little satire or humour never hurt anyone, did it?

Maybe the post has been removed?

Not sure what sarcasm you found in my response, Mr. Val; all I can see here is that John's first comment to you was very decent and friendly; anyone here can figure out who started the game of sarcasm. I just laughed at one of John's responses after you hit him with a sarcastic response. He was friendly towards you, and so was I. You attacked me; I never get into conflicts with anyone if someone does not drag me in, but once I am in, I do what I think I must do; I never feared any outcomes, good or bad; I learn from both of them.
And if there wasn't any sarcasm in your piece, I wonder why that needed to be edited. smile
Nobody respects us if we don't care about our respect, in my opinion. I've always been very respectful to you, but there is always a limit, and one should avoid dragging people in and blaming them for their personal pleasures. In the online world, I've learned that no matter how good you are, there will always be someone who enjoys criticizing you for no apparent reason. Perhaps you see people as computer screens or bots without feelings that use the internet, but I see them as humans with feelings and emotions behind screens. If my words can hurt you, be mindful that your words can also rip apart souls.
Be well, and let the conversation stay light and healthy, as none of us were looking forward to getting into any conflicts with you.

John -- The whole thing is not worth any further yapping -- but, on your photo before this present one I could see your eyes through the lenses of those glasses, which it wouldn't have been possible had those been sun glasses. On the photo before that one -- yes, those were sun glasses. I remember how I even poked a little fun about "some hubbers (it was you and Brenda at that time) hiding their eyes". Then both of you came up with these present pictures with no glasses at all.
But, like I say, the whole thing is rapidly turning into a sheer nuisance, so let's both learn something from this experience.

Brenda dear -- You will succeed with that spirit you have, and it's good to remember that "what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger", and "the bone is always stronger at the place where it broke, after it has healed." My own life could certainly prove both maxims to be true. Sometimes it seems like we are searching for the right path in dark, but once we set our foot on it, we suddenly know it's right for us.
You are a wonderful human being, sweetie, just listen to that guide in you and allow the light to show you the way. You are not alone on that quest, and pain is often a blessing and a propelling force towards bliss.
Just trust yourself, trust life, trust your tomorrows, and that trust will open the pages of the "secret" you are seeking.
