Beautiful lines -- Faust

   These are some of my favorite lines from the play 'Faust':
   
   If ever I to the moment shall say:
   Beautiful moment, do not pass away!
   
   Then you may forge your chains to bind me,
   
   Then I will put my life behind me,
   
   Then let them hear my death-knell toll,
   
   Then from your labours you'll be free,
   
   The clock may stop, the clock-hands fall,
   
   And time come to an end for me!

   Yes - this I hold to with devout insistence,
   Wisdom's last verdict goes to say:
   He only earns both freedom and existence

   For some reason, whenever I read these lines, I feel good.

About 6 months ago, on a forum discussion, Tanmoy recommended me to read this play. I read the play after he suggested it to me; if you want to read the complete play, you can find it on the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine. I am sure that if you read it, you will enjoy it.
