Hi Brenda,
You have crafted unique poems to portray sacrifice. I loved going through all of them. Whether sacrifice and courage is on the same or opposite sides of the coin is worth pondering. Sacrificing in the name of love for a friend is the theme of the acrostic poem. No sacrifice is too great if it is done for a loved one- this is depicted in the last poem. They are all superb, fitting into the meaning of sacrifice. "Sacrifice" by Elton John is my all-time favorite, and I loved to listen and watch again. Thank you for sharing all of these.
Thanks so much Rosina for sharing this one.
I'm glad you like them, because it was a struggle.
That song by Elton John is a good one.
Brenda, I have been contemplating 'Sacrifice or Courage?' since reading it this morning. They say it is asking the 'right questions' that matter. That certainly is the right question in my view. To me, the key to both is 'faith'!
Tim...
One definitely must have faith to survive either one...sacrifice or courage.
It takes alot of trust to make a stand.
Glad I asked the right question...this will get the wheels spinning.
Love the way you deciphered these ones Rosina.
Have a great day.
I am glad you pressured your muse into agreeing to take this on, Brenda. Your poems express the meaning of sacrifice very well. I particularly like the last two. The first song that came to my mind for including with this prompt was Elton John’s “Sacrifice.” It is s classic.
Thanks John.
I think after I got started, my muse started to get a bit better.
I'm glad you enjoyed them.
Hello Brenda,
A beautiful response to the word prompt with meaningful poems. I liked all your compositions.
Sacrifice or Courage, gives a whole new perspective to the word, and I agree with your thoughts. To make sacrifices, we need to be courageous.
Acrostic poem covers the word well and third poem includes almost everyone, known to make sacrifices, throughout their lives for their loved ones.
Thank you for sharing.
Chitrangada...
Thank you so much.
I do believe we must be courageous to make sacrifices.
So...mother's are really brave.
I'm glad you like them and that it shines a new prospective on the word.
That will keep us thinking.
Have a great week.
I thought I replied to another post about my work, but you must have deleted that one since Rosina had this one.
Brenda, I think your 3 poems describe sacrifice very well. I enjoyed reading each of them. I really liked the acrostic poem. I thought the courage and sacrific poem was very thought provoking. The last poem that talked about what people do out of love for someone is not a sacrifice is a great take on this topic.
Thank you for posting Brenda's poems, Rosina.
I'm so glad these pieces turned out to be better than I thought.
I think we all make sacrifices each day without even realizing we do.
Great to see you.
Take care
Wow, these poems are exquisite, beautifully written, touching the essence of the word and meaning of "sacrifice." The acrostic poem hit every note. Excellent job, Brenda. Thanks for going deeper than your initial thoughts. You hit these out of the park. To sacrifice is certainly to be courageous. Thanks for sharing, Rosina.
Wow! I'm certainly surprised that you believe these are that good.
My muse and I had a terrible struggle to get started.
Perhaps that made my thoughts dig in deep.
I really liked your poems, Brenda. The two words do seem interlinked in many cases. Thanks Rosina for sharing her words and thoughts with us. I especially liked the Starship Enterprise mention. It is probably a good thing that we cannot see the future! We just venture forth and tackle each day as it comes.
Thanks Peggy...
You're probably right.
If we knew what was up ahead...we might take a detour.
Then everything would be messed up.
Have a great day.
