Best thing to do is quickly throw some sand or dirt on the oil spill which will soak up a lot of it. After that take a rag soaked with gasoline and scrub the heck out of it. Well that's what my dad used to do and it worked!
Kitty litter works best on the initial spill, then depends on the floor if it's concrete a good Grease cutting kitchen soap with a stiff broom will lift out the rest of it.
Place oil spill pads or absorbent pillows directly on the spilled liquid.
Distribute the absorbents to different spots of the spill to make the clean up better and faster.
Keep on using the absorbent pads until every last drop has been wiped up.
Have plastic bags ready to collect the soiled material.
Double bag used items to avoid further leaking.
When there is no longer a threat of the spill spreading put the absorbent booms or absorbent socks into plastic bags.
Once everything is bagged, put the bags themselves into a single container.
