What are some of the best "spring cleaning" tips you have found?
At the end of every season (winter, spring, summer and fall), I go through my clothes and shoes. If I did not wear something once, then I put it in my giveaway pile.
After taxes are completed, I go through all of my files to make sure I cannot either store or shred some of the paper.
Make sure you actually do it around Spring time and do not put it off until Fall!!
Wash walls with a sponge mop. Also turn up the radio and it makes it not so bad.
Use two dusters at a time. This cuts the work in half and gets the dusting done faster.
Make a list of the tasks and take on just two everyday until finished the list.
It may spread the tasks out over a longer period,, but the work gets done, because it doesn't seem like much.
And, oh yes, as lisa.bom says the radio helps and play your favorite CDs and the time will pass quickly.
Once a year I go through all the cabinets in the kitchen. I throw away everything that is expired and make sure to get everything organized. Usually right before the winter holidays so I don't have to run out at the last minute if I am missing stuff. The medicine cabinet is a big one not to miss. I make sure all medicines are not expired and if I have to throw away certain items that I would want in an emergency, I replace them and put them on a separate shelf so I know exactly where to go if I want them.
