How is it that everyone some how gets 50$ a month when I haven't even gotten over a dollar?

I don't get $50 a month. This is my third month, and I doubt I'll have payout before October. From what I understand, first payout usually takes at least nine months.

I looked at your profile and you have very little activity. Get active on the site and put some more Hubs up and you'll see the dollars start trickling in.

The growth on Hub Pages is exponential. That means it will start out slow (numbingly slow in some cases) but once it hits critical mass it will grow rapidly. The only way you will get a recurring payout is if you stay active by posting hubs, answering/asking questions, and hub hopping.

You won't be working for much reward in the beginning, but if you are persistant you will reap huge benefits later from little to no work. It helps if you enjoy being on Hub Pages as you do more work up front. After a certain point (a year or so), you should be able to earn a steady passive income. Consider the first few months of experimentation an investment with significant earnings to come later. If you want to speed up the process you can always post hubs like crazy--one a day should net you some serious income after a couple months.

This my second month at hubpages with 18 hubs so far and I plan to go up to at least 100 hubs before the end of year.  I have found this site out of all I written from has the potential to make serious money. I was stunned and satisfied with my earnings the few weeks into this site.  But it does take time to build up a income.   I believe if we write at least 1 hub a day or 5 hubs for the week, earnings will increase daily.   I have seen other hubbers with 300 or more hubs.  I agree with Seth and Georgie, you need to be active.  Post as much as hubs as possible, comment on other hubs, ask questions and answer questions.  You will get followers this way and other people comment on your work as well.  It is really worth it.

I have 88 hubs, been here for 9 months, and I may hit $50 by this month.  So it takes work.  I've been busy with other work, otherwise I'd probably would have written more hubs and gotten there sooner.

The name of the game is patience. I just looked up your profile and you've only been here three months which if you look at some of the profiles of those who make a lot of money, they have been here at least a year. It's all about building a good reputation with consistently high quality hubs, but it takes time to develop a following. Of course there's a lot more to it but I recommend checking out the various tutorials here on hubpages.
