Is there a honest living you can work at home?

I see so many job offers to work at home and make $500 a day. Is that really possible or is it a scam? Is there anyone that actually makes a living at home?

Well all depending on what you're willing to do for money! Lol. More than likely that stuff is a joke, but there are a few out there that will allow you to work at home as long as you work for the company for a while in-office.

The closest legit job you can have at home is a sales rep.  Going to clients homes and pitching the product or taking care of problems.  Your home is your office and vehicle.  Everything else should be held in question I think.

If they're telling you pay to get the job, so I'm not sure this is real. You can make money but not very fast and it needs someone to work hard on marketing and getting more traffic to someone's own website. We're all trying by the way:)

Job offers like you describe are most likely a complete scam. However, there are many many people all around the world who work full time at home (both online and off) doing honest work and make their living at it.

Making money working at home isnt a "pie in the sky" promise nor is it something that can be achieved over night. Many people work on their own thing part time for months or even years while they are working their "regular job". If they work it right and things go well their sideline will eventually replace their regular job.

Certainly there is.  You can take out an ad in the local paper or post it on some resource on the internet.  "I will send you 10 of my mother's best chicken recipes for only $2.50+postage. Simply sent your check or money order to my post office box below:

                           Mama Doe Chicken Recipes
                           P.O. Box  123
                           Sioux City, SD  78808

America has 280 million people. If only 1% of them responds to your ad, you will become quite wealthy.  I will expect a thank you note.  WB

$500 a day is possible but this will only happen for a small percentage of people running a business. Is these ads a scam? Yes, 99.9% of advertisers will promise you anything you want to hear, to make a sale to anyone. There is no guarantee their so called money making method will work and most likely will not.

Is there anyone that makes a living at home? Well yes, i work for home/office ;-)

A honest living you can work at home? for those that do not have the knowledge or investment to become a advertiser, i always recommend scriptlance or elance. Bid on projects you can complete and get paid by private companies for completed tasks.

I know there are so very many work-at-home scams that promise you the world, I know because I have tried & failed at most all of them! I have spent so much money and wasted so much time on those types of "jobs" that turned out to be scams! I was fed up, giving up, & I wasn't going to try any more "work-at-home" jobs, that's when I found this one, completely by accident! It is not get rich quick but it is VERY legit!  Here is an article that I wrote on a very legitimate work at home business that pays residual monthly income. This company has been in business since 1985 and has an impeccable record with the Better Business Bureau; It is definitely worth a try! Here is the hub pages link: http://hubpages.com/hub/Turn-Your-Health-Into-Wealth    Or if you just want to check out the website without reading the article that website is www.workathomeunited.com/agreen  This is a wonderful opportunity and you will be so glad that you did not close the door on this one! smile Good luck!

I must disagree with some of the answers. There are many ways to make an honest living at home without paying money, doing marketing, sales, etc.
I am saying this as a home worker. The only thing similar to a business that I own is a website, http://allstayathome.com that is loaded with stay at home jobs. I get joy from helping others find work at home.
Aside from this site, I hold several jobs at home. These include courthouse research, writing SEO content, google rating, mystery shopping, merchandising, and I also have other little money makers.

I have heard of websites and blogs that make $500.00 more a day by using adsense, advertising space and affiliate products to make their money.

As far as jobs go you gotta do some research. There are work at home jobs for customer support, data entry and transcription just to name a few and the option of using freelance websites.

My blog has a list of jobs here if you are interested: http://onlinemoneydairy.blogspot.com/20 … y-and.html

Another side note there is a company called Varolo that pays its members to watch ads though in order to really make anything with them you need a pretty big downline. Which would be hard for someone who doesn't want to promote the opportunity or knows little about internet marketing. Anyways just wanted to throw that out there, they will be drawing for their $500.00 dollar jackpot later today, so now is the best time to join smile    http://www.varolo.com/village/JourneyCashTeam

There is a difference between self employment ideas and work at home jobs. Not everyone needs or wants to start a business from home. The other option, and I've made a living this way, is to find a work at home jobs, where companies pay you a paycheck and benefits to work. This article explains more:

Yes. If you have a skill such as sewing, or knitting or any other skill such as candlemaking etc, you can make a living. As I said in one of my hubs if you are not shy and are willing to promote it yourself or have some marketing skills you can sell products on the internet. I suggest that if you have the time you can come up with lots of things that people need and if you have the skills or if there are such simple things as shopping for people with a minimal shopping list and you trust people enough you could even do that for a small fee.You should not have to buy a job if you need income. It's that simple.

There are many decent work at home jobs, but there is no job that will make you $500 once you jump on it.

You need to find a skill or a hobby to make a decent earning online.

I suggest to check what other freelancers do .
