Do you feel that extreme couponing leads to hoarding stock piles of unnecessary items?
I think it's great to save money on items that you plan on using, but why purchase 100 items that you may only use 1-2 a year. Why not give 99% of it to people who need it.
Yes. Have you seen some of their storerooms? (i;m talking about the ones they show on those reality TV shows.) They have more than they can possibly use in a lifetime. Their stock piles take over the garage, closets, and any spare rooms that aren't occupied by a person. I always wonder if they check some of those things for expiration dates. Not all "nonperishables" are non perishable.
I also wonder why they think they need to purchase all those items. Do you really need 20 boxes of Cheerios? 40 tubes of toothpaste? 50 containers of Tick-Tack mints?
Sure does, if you watch that tv show extreme couponers you'll see they have hundreds of cans of formula and have no baby, I find this to be absurd. Only case I could see doing that is if i'm going to donate to someone or a foundation.
That's exactly what I wanted to say Trish. Why accumulate all that stuff - most will probably expire - while there are empty shelves at food banks everywhere?
I don't have what it takes to do extreme couponing, but if I did I would donate a lot of it
