How do I get back my tax witholding from Amazon.com
I am a publisher from the UK, Amazon US held back a percentage of tax through money sent to me, how do I apply for the remaining earnings.
You probably have to provide Amazon with a Form W-8BEN. Form: http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/fw8ben.pdf . Instructions: http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/iw8ben.pdf
This should have them stop future withholding, but I have no idea how to get you back any previously withheld taxes. Amazon no longer has the money, they sent it to the Internal Revenue Service.
