Have you been discriminated against in the work place because you are a single mother?

No, but I got passed over for a promotion by single woman with a child.  I was much more qualified and skilled.  They felt sorry for her.

Thank you for answer Bronterae, no discrimination is ever the right course of action.

I was once passed up for a promotion because I am a white male.  They needed to meet an affirmative action quota, so a female minority got the position.  It's strange that they don't even hide it.  They told me I was more qualified and otherwise would have received the promotion.  They just had the Chief Diversity Officer explain it to me.   How about a "Chief Measure People By Their Merit Officer".  I guess that's not politically correct.

I agree, I am against discrimination of any kind. Our merit should always be the measuring stick. If only, right? Thank you for your comment
