Hilary Rosen's words set off a fire storm of criticism!

When Hilary Rosen made the statement that it was wrong for Mitt Romney to be using his wife as his guide to women's economic struggles, when she, Ann Romney never worked a day in her life. It set off a fire storm of criticism, of Hilary Rosen, like she had committed the worst sin possible.

How dare Hilary Rosen, question Mrs. Romney's purporting, that she is just like every other stay-at-home moms/dads, with no mention of her spouse's billions.

Ann Romney never 'HAD TO' work a day in her life!

Did Hilary, say what she meant? Did she mean what she said? Or did she mean to say, "Ann Romney NEVER HAD TO work a day in her life?"

Did Hilary mean that Ann Romney was not the person to be compared to women who had to work outside the home, either because their husbands could not EARN enough money to sufficiently feed their family, or because the women were alone, and working outside the home to feed their children. Something Mrs. Romney would/will never HAVE to do.

From the fire-storm you would think that Hilary Rosen had hit Ann Romney, not verbally, but physically!

From the fire storm on twitter, you would think that Hilary Rosen had hit Ann Romney, not verbally, but physically. When Wolf Blitzer, pounced on Hilary, and demanded that she apologize to Mrs. Romney, that is when twitter was set ablaze.

Mr. Romney was bringing home 26 MILLION dollars a year!

Poor Ann Romney, you would think she could afford a nanny or babysitter, or could she? Since Mr. Romney was bringing home 26 MILLION dollars a year as one of Bain Capital's Corporate Raiders. Not counting the billions being acquired else-where.

Do you know the difference between a nanny and a babysitter?

Do you know the difference between a nanny and a babysitter?

A nanny would probably earn a salary, and maybe even earn a pension, if Mitt Romney would allow that? Since Mitt is in favor of taking away pensions, not granting them.

A babysitter would require minimum wages, without a pension and no benefits.

Poor Ann Romney, one would think she could afford a house keeper or cleaning lady, since her husband is a multi-million heir, with a Swiss bank account.

Mr. Romney also said "of Planned Parenthood we will get rid of it!"

Mr. Romney also said "of Planned Parenthood we will get rid of it!"

How many of you women out there depend of, Planned Parenthood for something other than contraceptives? Like cancer screening and treatment for other medical conditions? And where are you going to go when Mr. Romney gets rid of it.

Did he ask Mrs. Romney what the women that she espouses to represent, what they are going to do without Planned Parenthood?

Does Mrs. Romney represent you???

Wolf Blitzer is my least favorite anchor on CNN. Ann and Mitt are both clueless wrt 90 percent of American voters, men and women.

It would be nice if we "average tax-paying citizens" had some say in where 'our' tax dollars go. If I had any say in where mine went, I'd prefer they went to help young mothers stay home with their little kids, rather than to fund daycare centers.

nicomp, what does know about people on welfare? Romney never missed a meal in his life, never went to bed hungry, never wanted for anything, his tiny little heart desired. I am sure he thinks anybody who is out work, does not want to work and he will never know how hard it is to find a job.

Thank you anyway for reading my hub.

"In January Mitt Romney, himself said that welfare parents 'need to go to work,' or lose their benefits."

Good for him. No able-bodied American should be payed to stay home.

No one should ever say that stay-at-home moms do not work. They may not receive a paycheck, but the do indeed work. Hilary Rosen should have chosen her words more carefully, and given her experience in politics, I'm surprised she didn't.

Ann Romney is in a completely different class than most working mothers. She will never know the joys of working 2 or 3 jobs out of necessity and STILL living in poverty. She will never know what it's like to have to rob Peter to pay Paul. She will never wonder if she's going to be able to make her rent or house payment of if she and her brood will be living in their car or under a bridge by the end of the month.

A lot of people with less money than Ann Romney don't know anything about these things either, but they often have plenty to say about them. They tend to be very critical. Personally, I don't think anyone should be allowed to run for any office in this country until they have been homeless for 5 years eating out of dumpsters with no help from friends or relatives and nothing at all to fall back on except their own wits for staying alive through it all.

Being homeless and hungry can be an amazing attitude changer when people actually live it and find out that people really don't have to do anything to deserve that sort of life. Sometimes it's the luck of the draw.

I call it an opportunity for all those good Christians out there to prove they really are what they say they are -- good Christians. I think God gives us all opportunities everyday to put our money (and everything else He's given us) where our mouth is. Help those less fortunate. Even though God is very old, I think His mind is still sharp as a tack and that He doesn't need us to stand around with our hands in our pockets helping Him judge whether people are deserving of help or not. I think He expects us to dig in and give a hand up to as many people in need as we can without the judgment and criticism. So dear reader, what have you done to make God proud of You today?
