Debt Ceiling Reduction Commitees are Green Lighted

Updated on August 28, 2011

The Bums!!

Debt Reduction Committess Green Lighted

It would seem that the debt reduction committees will be green lighted as part of the Washington DC compromise. This means that Washington DC will have to hire DC outsiders with absolutely no political aspirations to complete the job in which Congress could not do itself

Again I would love this job.

But we have to ask ourselves is Washington really working when they have to appoint an outside committee to reduce the debt? How has DC fixed itself when they have to appoint a committee to reduce the debt? How many committees does DC appoint that they ignore the reccommendations? And if Congress ignores the debt reduction committees reccomendations then defense and social security take an automatic hit. So Congress has created a trigger where defense and social security is cut by simply ignoring debt reduction committee. And Congress has turfed their liability for reducing the debt to this committe but in all reality there is a hair trigger to reduce entitlements by voting up and down. Upon a vote down entitlements and defense gets cut.

And DC is still not willing to tax the rich. The rich pay about 18% taxes which is the rate the poorest people in the country pay. How can Congress not tax the wealthy and claim to represent the American People? Is it because Congress is wealthy and they don't wish to pay taxes?

How is Congress doing their job when they have to appoint an outside committee and pay them to reduce the debt? It isn't actually Congress doing their job it is Congress out sourcing thier liability to cut benefits to the poorest people in the country when they have given themselves a 325 million dollar raise this year. Where was Congresses or even the Tea Party Movement Members fiscal conservation when they voted to give themselves a raise?

Has Congress ever considerd if they made certain everyone had a job then social security and medicaire would be solvent. The true crisis in these programs is caused by the exceptionally high unemployment in this country. Unemploy people who have never seen the job creation of the Bush Tax cuts for the last decade and therefore continuing tax cuts to create jobs when it hasn't for the last decade is completely illogical.

And how can anyone say there is equality in the cuts to the domestic budget and defense spending when defense has had a huge budget for the last decade while domestic programs have been cut to nothing. Unilateral cuts to defense and increases to domestic programs would only represent equality.

Sadly, all of Washigton is playing a palor game with all of America. They keep speaking about the time limits regardingt he debt ceiling and are tring to scare Americans ot accpet the debt ceiling raises by the time line instead of seriously looking at what the government is cutting and who they are hurting with these cuts. It is the old bait and switch. What is obvious is that Congress is really harming the people of this country once again. And we as a country will not tolerate more cuts to anything when Congress has been on a spending spree like drunken sailors at a brothel and it is all parties spending like this. Tea Party Members included who gave themselves a 5% raise this year. Throw all of the Bums out. They are tricking the people of the United States government but cutting into domestic programs and lowering the quality of the People's lives when they themeselves are millionaires who are refusin to pay taxes to the country which they serve.

Shame on all of Congress!! We understand that subsantatively the debt ceiling bill is going to be horrific for all the people of the country and you have just claimed bipartisanship and bickering and threatened to default to scare us into accepting a less than kosher piece of legislation that will harm our weakest citizens while Congress lives large. Shame on everyone in Congress and throw the bums out into the street. Let them live under the debt ceiling budget cuts for several years. Let Congress live with the reality of there terrible leadership. Let Congress live like monks impoverished for the rest of their lives like the rest of us.

If Congress thinks the Tea Party is mad and they are a force for reform. They haven't even begun to reap their karma from this debt ceiling debacle and the subsequent domestic cuts. What Washington DC wants so desperately, change, is about to wash over them like a tidal wave. True change is on its way because the USA people know that the debt ceiling deal is horrific for all of the people of this country. Congress waited until the last minute so they could slip a gross unpalatable bill through which will harm all the people of this country without organized opposition from anyone. And as such, all the bums in DC need to be jailed.

The message needs to be sent. The next time Congress considers cutting anything they need to start with their own salaries let alone not give themselves a raise. To me, Congress giving itself a raise means there really isn't a debt problem and Congress isn't really willing to share the ordeal.

Debt Ceiling Rouse

Do you believe the debt ceiling debate was a rouse to cover up the fact that Congress is going to make substantial inhumane cuts to services to the weakest people in our society?

You have been turned into Hubpages management for vioations of terms of services. I realilze you are new but it is inappropriate to make personal attacks. I have deleted your post not because anything you wrote is true but because you have been inappropriate and are in volation of your terms of service contract.

It is amazing you how you think you have so much insight into me and what I knwo without understanding the terms of service contract you have with hubpages?

You don't know me and you don't even know if I was arguing one side just to bring traffic to the sight. Everything I wrote could have been made up. But you corssed a line and I will report you every single time you cross a line again.

And you used profanity which is against the terms of service contract as well.

Couldn't you have won this argumnet without making personal attacks or using profanity? NO!! I didn't think so!! So you sunk to the lowest form of arguing.

I know you are wrong because you vioated your contract with Hubpages, you got personal and you used profanity. All bad moves and you made them and now are trapped by them. They define you not me. I just pulled it out of you.

Retired civil servant? I don't think so. I know way too many of them. And they would never stoop so low. Buddy you broke your contract and you have not made a friend. Stay off my hubs!!

So in the end does "WhatBigJohnThinks" matter? No because he is lowly, profane and inarticulate and hopely will be taxed to death because of his own personal greed and willingness to break all the rules. You just killed your own argument and your own credibility.

Yes, we agree that there needs to be a level playing field for btoh accessibility and monetary reward.

So lets see we are guaranteed life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. And since we aren't be given a square deal none of us are getting this but the exceptionally wealthy and the system has been corrupted for so long in the favor of the wealthy the pendulum has to swing the other way in order for there to be parady. It is the very nature of how things must be balanced. Government is so out of balance right now and it is getting further away from a natural correction with the Tea Party Movement. There has to be taxes so the general welfare can be promoted once again. The flat tax is just a joke when everyone is out of work and can't afford food. It is so unrealistic and impractical.

There is also no guarantee of continued wealth or no taxes either in this country and right now it is the wealthy people flexing their muscles, throwing down and trying to avoid their duties to the less fortunate and ther inability to compete against the avergae person that is failing this country. If rich people were stripped of all their money they would perish. They are the weak ones in our society and they are dragging all of us down. Those that can and have survived on less are the strength of this country. It is time for rich people welfare to end. Most have obtained their monies ileglaly, immorally or through inheritance and don't have any marketable skills. If they didn't have money they would be dust and so they should be.

I apologize if this offends you but my grandparents were steel barons before WWII and they had everything federalized and taken from them for this country and we had to survive without money so I understand what it takes and how the rich cheat because they lack breeding, character and strength. It isn't true of every rich person but of most of them.

Civil war was fought over class division and we are headed there again.

It is time everyone in this country meet on the square.

It sounds like out fundementals due in fact align. We do need to throw these guys out of office. I do agree that this debt ceiling is nothing more than a giant fisade to cover what they are actually doing. I agree with more than I don't. I do not agree however that we should tax the "rich" because they are the only ones left to tax. The constitution is laying the floor in the men's room in Washington. As citizens we do need to lend a helping hand to those who need it but there is no law that states we have this to do. maybe there should be, but not as of now. I heard recently someone say, "Government should watch those that make a profit and help the thoss that don't". I disagree. The basis this country was founded on gave no guarantees that every one should be profitable and successful monetarily. What it guaranteed was an equal playing field. Now if you want agreement, this is where we may see eye to eye. That common ground is now skewed in many, many ways. Some of which maybe finances and accessibility. Do we agree?

Thank yo for reading, commenting and providing feedback.

First I agree with most of what you have written ith the exception I am referring to people who are millionaires and billionaires who only pay tax penalties and not taxes at all. They lend the government money and are only penalized by tax penalties for taking money out of banks or trusts too early ONLY. The have no income but interest on their money and they pay a total of 18% which places themnin the lowest tax bracket.

I might mention that many of the millionaires and billionaires are such because of the government and the fact they have not paid taxes in the last decade during a war. USe ot be in America people wouldn't let each other starve and go hungry but not now. People are as greedy as greed gets. And DC leads by exmaple in this virtue.

Yes, Washington has spent too much but the only people left to tax is the wealthy and they are way over due since they haven't paid taxes in a decade.

I think you should read more of my hubs as I have written rather extensively on this subject. I think the entrie country should united and throw the bums right out of office. The next perosn to do without or go hungry needs to be members of Congress long before anyone outside of DC goes without another day.

I will check your hubs out. I follow alot of people. Congress are non-producing workers. The rest of the country is unemployed. The only people left with money is the wealthy. But millionaires and billionaires not anyone under 1/2 million dollars.

This is all a trick. Congress is going to pass a really horrific bill but claim that they atleast didn't default. The hit is really coming. Tell the Tea Party the Party is over Michelle Bachmann and the rest of the Tea Party Movement claim fiscal conservation but gave themselves a 5% raise this year which is about 10k of tax payer money per member in a horrifc economy.

I agree with most of your hub. I think you should take the time to read mine as well. I'm not sure where your figures come from but the tax reporting agencies that oversee who and to how much taxe is paid all levy the same result. the to 1% of wage earners, those who make over $380,000, pay 38% of income tax while only gathering 19% of income available. Not only this but this cross-section of income earners also own the majority businesses there fore paying the largest portion of business taxes and licensing fees to government. They pay enough. The biggest problem we have in this country is a governemnt that doesn't have to live by the same rules we do as citizens. Simple, you can't spend what you don't have so why do we allow them to. Taxing the rich is an easy out. Take from those have and give it those who have not. That's out and out socialism. Our country was founded on the principle that if you put in the hard work you can achieve whatever it is you want. This doesn't mean money to everyone. If your pursuit is poetry and art than pursuit with all that you have, but don't ask the guy who has devoted his life to attaining wealth to pay for it. Success is attained in whatever and to what level you choose. It's America. The top 50% of earners pay 97% of those afore mentioned taxes as well. Do you know where that destinction is marked? $33,000 a year! The top earners pay almost all the taxes in this country. I think that's more than fair.

Everytime in our history the issue of taxes comes rearing it's ugly skowl, "Tax the rich" is heard. Finally someone says not so fast. It always is connected with if we don't entitlements will be cut. Not so. The loop holes for the finacially disadvantaged needs to be tightened and spending by our "spend it like you print it" governemnt needs to be repaired first. The rich are a minority in this country by sheer numbers. It's fascinating to me that we act like spoiled children that once our ice cream is gone we want more and look to the rich to provide it. The U.S. is a finacial institution. It is why we have Treasury Bonds to sell. If you were an investor looking to invest, would you bug America? Even with no understanding of finances you would have to say NO! Let's get our house in order and order our government to be a little more tight with our money.

As to an outside commitee making choices as to cuts, I agree with you. It's because we as a people have learner you can't put the fox in charge of the hen house. They can't do it and get elected. The first job on day one as a politician is to get re-elected. they can't make the cuts and tightening of the belt that needs to done without pissing off some group(s) of potential voters. It's why we're in this mess now. They can't can say NO! to anyone. If you don't believe this than why do we see brand new cars in front of WIC offices? Why is it that the government gave out debit cards for Katrina victims and got bills for gambling, Caribbean vacations, NFL tickets, Dom Perignon champagne, "Girls Gone Wild" videos, and at least one sex change operation. Why have members of Congress been allowed to spent hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars supplying their offices with popcorn machines, plasma televisions, DVD equipment, ionic air fresheners, camcorders, and signature machines -- plus $24,730 leasing a Lexus, $1,434 on a digital camera, and $84,000 on personalized calendars? This list goes on and on.

QWe need to tell the government "The party is over", "I'm made as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore!!".
