Boehner Bails on Debt Ceiling Talks

Barack Obama called all Congressional Leaders up to the White House to provide a plan for lifting the debt ceiling. John Boehner a republican from Ohio defiantly flexed his political muscles and refused to show up today. This is an extraordinary measure as the majority of the Congress has flagrantly disregarded the president’s orders. As colorful as Ohio politicians have been in the past, many have gone to jail specifically Trafficka; Boehner is taking a significant chance with both his re-election bid and his party by failing to minimally attend a meeting at the request of the POTUS.

We all know that the debt Ceiling will be raised. This is not a real argument but posturing for the next election cycle. I can't blame Boehner arguing against taxes for Ohio. Ohio has one of the highest tax rates in the USA. But he is a US Senator and as such he is required to deal with national priorities on behalf of his constituents. What is more apparent is this inevitable scare tactic placed upon the citizens of this country. Why would Congress be so irresponsible?

Republicans, especially the Tea Party Movement, have been screaming at the top of their lungs for debt reduction. This bill specifically addresses those concerns so why are they fighting a bill which they have lobbied for? Is this just more political theater in what is becomes an incredulous government already?

I would like Boehner to justify the 325 million dollars in raises Congress has received this past year and then talk about being a fiscal conservative? Boehner took his raise as well. And it is at the cost of taxpayers and social programs including education (No Child Left Behind was written by Boehner's camp). Before any social program are cut in the United States the Congress needs to take a pay cut especially when the majority leader can't be troubled to show up to a meeting called by the President.

You or I don't show up when the boss asks us to and we get fired. John Boehner doesn't think he is compelled to fulfill the duties of his office. Perhaps it is time John Boehner resigns.

For all of you on the extreme left or right of this argument, I know you will not approve. It always amazes me how the Tea Party Movement and the extreme liberal Democrats always attack me. It would seem the liberal Democrats and the Tea Party Movement are the same people. Save your attacks you have bigger problems to worry about. The majority leader of Congress just failed to do his job when he was getting exactly what he had requested which was debt reduction.

If I were Obama I would raise taxes specifically on Congress because Boehner wasn't compliant. It is scary to think that the guy third highest up in DC will not show up to a meeting called by the President. It speaks to the dysfunction of DC and specifically to the critical need to replace John Boehner in Ohio. If he can't work with Democrats then perhaps it is time he retires. Again, I don't blame Boehner for his concerns about tax increases in his state but I do blame him for not working with the President especially since he holds a key leadership position. Today Boehner failed the people of Ohio and the People of the United States as well as his commander and chief.

Boehner's Failure

Do you think John Boehner has failed his constituents and his country by not attending the debt ceiling talks with Obama?

Time to Throw the Bums Out!!

After this stunt today I can think of no better time then now to throw all of these bums out. No matter Republican or Democrat they need thier pink slips. Anyone who received a raise in the last year during this so called fiscal crisis and didn't get the debt ceiling raised needs to be retired from politics. Keep track and number all of their days. That includes but this not limited to Michelle Bachmann.

It is cruel and unusual for government to act so irresponsible in handling the affairs of the country they are sworen to serve.

Do you think ALL of Congress should be thrown out because they took a 5% raise without raising the debt ceiling?

Do you think Congress should be thrown out because they took a 5% rasie while failing to deal with the debt ceiling crisis?
