WHERE CAN WE GO FROM HERE?

Updated on July 19, 2010

BEACON OF LIBERTY

My fellow Americans since the inception of this nation beginning on July 4, 1776 the United States of America has been the beacon of liberty for the entire world. The basis of our founding fathers brought millions of immigrants to these shores seeking the liberty and freedom that could be found nowhere else in the world.  Even the French people recognized the promise of liberty to be found in this newly constituted nation. That is the reason they made a gift of The Statue of Liberty to the citizens of The United States of America.

Hopeful immigrants from every country in the world flocked to our shores to seek the liberty and freedom we brought to the entire world.  Although they sometimes had a tough time getting established they were able to persevere through the blessings of freedom and liberty. This is a singularity among governments on this earth. We have made our share of mistakes along the way, but we always ended up trying to make atonement for those mistakes.

Abraham Lincoln ended the scourge of slavery and the nation was much better for his doing so. We have yet to fully atone for our treatment of Native Americans, but we have tried and there’s more work to accomplish. We have passed civil rights legislation with bi-partisan support and Social Security/Medicare to take care of our senior citizens.  The economic results of these legislative efforts also brought negative economic results to the American people. We now have a massive National Debt and massive unfunded liabilities due to these programs.

THE LAST STRAW THAT BROKE THE CAMEL BACK

I hate to be the voice of gloom and doom, but fellow Americans today Sunday, March 21, 2010 we stand on the precipice of losing our liberty. This massive government takeover of our health care system could end The American Dream, as we have known it. We already have massive debt of $12.5 trillion and unfunded liabilities of $100+ trillion. The exorbitant cost of this massive “social justice” program may be the last straw that breaks the camel’s back and the freedom and liberty we have been blessed with would be gone!!!!! All right thinking Americans know “social justice” is code for socialist oppression. Redistribution of wealth has never worked anywhere on earth and never will!!!!!!

There is nowhere else on earth to go to find this liberty thus the question, Where Can We Go From Here?
