   Depends on the subject. In general, sometimes there is no right or wrong, just indifference. The decider isn't always the most knowledgeable, but the most outspoken.

   Perception is everything. People tend to 'close their eyes' seeing abuse or oppression that is socially acceptable. We just need to look back at slavery, colonisation of new world and socially acceptable oppression of native inhabitants or the apartheid in South Africa or the gender apartheid of women under Taliban in Afghanistan.
   More recently it is acceptable to treat refugees inhumanly in detention centres because the advanced Western countries feel they have right to do so to protect their way of life. People in these countries ask their governments to deal harshly with refugees (who are just desperate people running away from poverty, hunger and war) so their comfortable way of life would not be threatened and they feel strongly that it is their right to do so...Are they right or wrong?

   The nature of right and wrong will probably get a lot of responses from people of a religious slant. And while I don't mean to insult a person's beliefs, the fact is that anyone who says God determines what's right and wrong is going to be contradicted by someone who read a different book and calls God by a different name. It insults the gravity of right and wrong by turning it into a dick measuring session between deities, and all of it far too subjective to be of any use.
   
   Right and wrong must be decided individually, but ultimately meet a common consensus. We agree that true objectivity is impossible, so the best we can do is work toward the wellbeing of the human race as well as our surroundings. To that end, the best definition of right is a course of action which does absolutely no harm to anyone while working toward the common good. Conversely, wrong is harming other people, the environment, or other living things, whether it is for profit or the simple enjoyment of the act.

   I assume you mean with a society in general, what is right or wrong and who decides.  That would point to why the "Rule of Law" is important to the overall fabric of America.  When the country was founded, laws were established, some at the federal level and even more at the state and local level.  These laws were designed to be harmonious and work across the spectrum.  The respect for the those by the public and the enforcement of those laws by the various agencies and the court system all weaves into that which we call "The Rule of Law".  In the end, through their elected representatives, the people decide what is right and what is wrong on the basis on decency, morals, and to some extent religion.  Once a society's respect for the Rule of Law breaks down then the fabric that holds that society together begins to fall apart causing the society to deconstruct.  Authority and respect for authority have a place in a free society.  Those things bring order and they provide a center line that always guides us back to the proper direction.  We all benefit by that fact. WB

   Right and wrong are nothing but the bright and foul sides of your own character and thinking. What you consider in your favor or according to you is reasonable is right according to you and what you consider is inappropriate is wrong. Generally, the sense of right and wrong varies from person to person and is never a common accepted feature.

   @ Wayne Brown I appreciate your thought but can not completely agree with you. You are talking about Rules of Law, Morals, Decency, Religion and more. And what if there were neither Rules nor law? Would that mean that nothing is wrong?
   
   I believe our perception, conscience, principle, standard, Society, culture, environment, education, thoughts also play a major role in deciding what is right or wrong.
   
   @ Beata Stasak I agree with u but perception? How does our perception develop? Anything that you & your society does & ur perception is good for that but some against u then? is it right?

   @ Shubhansh Jain  nice thought!  we live in a Society so your perception or individual thought for yourself doesn't matter. you have to follow Society.
