   Well, honestly no one will know until after the elected candidate actually governs. Based on the candidates' records and professed ideologies it definitely appears that it is but just like Obama turned out to be nothing like the person he professed to be when running for the office in 2008, if elected Romney could turn out to be just another Charlatan of a different color :-),
   
   Or Romney could fail to keep the House nor gain the Senate and get nothing done, or Obama could be re elected without a democrat congress and he could be stifled. Or the world could come under apocalypse from natural catastrophe or economic Armageddon (which some believe is already unavoidable no matter who gets elected).and neither candidate winning would have mattered a hill of beans....who knows?
   
   One thing is for sure, if Obama would release his sealed records and Romney his taxes we would without question know if this is the most important election of our life time or not...just ask Big Bird, he'll tell you, if he hasn't caught romnesia. https://encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com/imag … SPTp-rkjjb

      We know Obama will continue his destruction of America at ever a faster pace, if he's reelected! He also has another opportunity to appoint more justices that have no regard for the Constitution, this would have an impact for future generations!

      Just curious--many people believe as you do. What does Obama gain by destroying the nation if you think he is doing it on purpose. The Supreme Court Card is played almost every election. Roe v Wade still stands.

      Larry- I don't think that he wants to destroy the country, I think he truly believes in what he's doing. Many who believe Keynesian economics, such as our president, actually believe we should have doubled our stimulus, regardless of the debt.

   I am 61. There have been several elections that have been "the most important in our life time."
   
   Eisenhower was president when I was born. John Kennedy was elected over Richard Nixon. Kennedy was assassinated. Johnson became President and ran against Barry Goldwater, the first of the most important elections because of the claim that Goldwater would use nuclear weapons in Vietnam.
   
   Next Nixon was elected, and in his second term was forced to resign. After four years of Jimmy Carter, we had Ronald Reagan, another most important election because of the fiscal crisis and energy crisis. We re-elected George W. Bush after 9-11, another most important election in history because of national security and mistakes made during the Bill Clinton administration. Now we are facing some of the same problems we have faced in the past, and we are calling it the most important history in our lifetime.
   
   There is an old history joke about a given discovery, being the greatest invention of the century--they just happen to have one every year.
   
   All presidential elections are important. This one is under intense scrutiny. All elections, federal, state and local should be under such scrutiny. If we did that maybe we would not have to get overly concerned about any single election being the most important in our lifetime.
   
   The short answer is I do not know if this will be the most important election in my lifetime, because I do not know what is going to happen tomorrow, next week or next month.

      My concern is that we've reached a point where we can kick our financial problems down the road, we're 16 trillion dollars in debt and borrowing money from the most dangerous nation in the world -China!

      I rank North Korea as the most dangerous nation in the world. At least with China we are opening lines of communications, that were started by Richard Nixon. If you owe me money, I will help you survived so I get paid. China cannot seize our assets.

      The thought of surviving as a hostage to China doesn't thrill me!   China is dangerous in the sense that it can challenge the United States both militarily and economically. Also it hasn't proved to be a true friend of America by any stretch!

   This election is to choose the right person to help rebuild America.
   Recreate the new structure of the Job creation.
   Many things in America need alot of T.L.C.
   We need to go back to the basic.  Love needs to come back to the world.
   Families need to be once again the root of America.
   My opinion Romeny has more of the characteristics that America needs.
   Can we really afford 4 more years of Obama?
   Americans are hurting for jobs, money, even hope.
   In my opinion America is in great need for a true leader Romeny.
   Where there is hope there is love.  Where there is love there is peace.
   That is what America needs.

      True leadership isn't always popular, especially when poeple are sometimes required to face the consequences of thier poor decisions. Romney is prepared to be that kind of leader because he has a track record of making those tough decisions.

      I'm sure there's some truth in wihat you say but we have to get involved, even if its to choose the dog with the least fleas. President Obama is the first president to openly deny the Christian heritage of America.

   President Obama has made fundamental changes to our great Country in his 3 + years in the White House, I am certain that if he were to get elected to another term he will see it as his free reign to completely and forever change us from a great and prosperous, proud country to something much, much less. We will have less morality, less productivity, less rights, and much more debt. There will be many more "takers" on the Government dole than there are "makers" working to support the Government.
   While we cannot say with certainty what a President Romney would do - his history shows him to be a proud, morale, decent, hard working man who is wise in business, and a proven leader. I will feel much safer and settled if Romney is the elected Presdient come November 6th.
   Is the 2012 Presidential election the most important in our lifetime? In my life time - YES it is!

      Well said, I completely agree! I believe Romney is up to the task, he knows what it takes to get the economy back on track, the president on the other hand has no clue what to do, other than to tax and spend!

   I truly feel America has peaked and is on the decline. How fast and far is up to it's citizens. The erosion of our constitution may decline a bit more under one than the other, but until we get rid of the electoral college and a 2 party system erode it will.

      Isn't the electoral college a good thing because it keeps larger states from dominating smaller states? It keeps Wyoming from being dominated by California.
