    Should there be a Global Level awareness program to have fewer children to reduce future population?

    The global population is around 7.1 billion, causing enough pressure on natural resources. Is an awareness program at global level to curb the population growth a possible solution?

    A good question.  Certainly a larger population puts a lot of pressure on natural resources and the environment.  Having a global awareness program to make people aware of this situation is a good idea.  However, just this morning I heard on the radio that China is planning on dropping their one child policy by 2020.  Ultimately, population will self-correct as the economics and other factors make it harder to have a lot of children.  That has already started happening in developed countries in Europe and in places like the U.S. and Japan.

      While I am not in favor or heavy-handed government, such as China's one child policy,. government policies can help move things in certain directions.  I think all parties are responsible for achieving the goal of sustainable population growth.
