What is the most infamous political lie ever told in America?
American political leaders have made some statements in the past which are beyond anyone's wildest dreams when it comes to falsehood. Past Presidents have made speeches that were supposed to be defining moments, when instead they were catastrophic disasters that would haunt them forever.
I'll start - Richard Nixon...."I am not a crook"
so many lies and only 2500 characters limitation:
"Saddam Hussein is a direct and imminent threat to the United States of America."
"the consent of the governed"
and pretty much everything Drump says when he opens his big mouth, Ditto for Clinton, Obama, OK EVERYBODY in politics
At least you and I can agree that we are pointing out lies that actually matter.
“The fact is we had four dead Americans. Was it because of a protest or was it because of guys out for a walk one night who decided that they’d they go kill some Americans? What difference, at this point, does it make?”
(Hillary defending her Benghazi lies)
And by the way, Hillary makes Nixon look like a boy scout. I do not think of Nixon as a "crook". He did more for the Unites States than most Americans realize. I am proud that he was a U.S. President. He loved this country deeply. It's a shame that the majority of Americans fail to recognize his accomplishments. They really should get the whole story..

Sorry, y'all's prejudice is showing. Both of you.
How is rendering an opinion on an opinion question deemed prejudicial? Your political biasedness is showing.....
Thanks, RJ... for giving my comment a chance. Not everyone has the wherewithal to print anything decent about Nixon. You were willing to look at facts.
As for Hillary, she actually lied. Even others, like Vince Foster, have died because of her.
The "trickle down theory". The more money the rich make, the more money would trickle down to the masses. When I was a reporter for a radio network, I covered one of those local political barbecues and was buttonholed by a Republican candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives. I say "buttonholed" because I wasn't too interested in him because he was new, an unknown quantity, and I knew he didn't stand the chance of a snowball on a hot griddle. I was only interested in getting an interview with Rep. John Paul Hammerschmidt (R-Ark.) and former Governor Orville Faubus.
Anyway, I remember spending one of the most boring 20 minutes of my life listening to this man, Bob -- I can't remember his last name, describing how all this money was going to trickle down into our pockets from the rich. If it did, somehow I missed out.
What about..."If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor"
I kept mine. He's been my primary care since 1987.

Is the current FBI flap over emails worse than Watergate? One candidate claims the emails currently under question are worse than the Watergate incident decades ago. Do you remember that incident? What is your opinion?

How will the Left react when Hillary Clinton loses the election to Trump?Even with her cronies fixing the polling, she's declining and Trump is rising. Trump is moving into new territory, talking directly to Democrat voters such as blacks; people she has been taking for granted as...

There are people who strongly contend that the witch hunt against Hillary Clinton regarding past scandals & e-mail escapades are because she is a woman. They maintain that Hillary Clinton is more than qualified to be President of the United States. They maintain that Hillary Clinton...

Who is the bigger criminal, Richard Nixon or Hillary Clinton?Nixon's allies and cronies used White House authority to block investigations and hide illegal and marginally legal actions. Hillary and her allies and cronies, including the President, have participated in the greatest illegal transfer...

Trump is not your normal candidate nor is he running a normal campaign. I know the word normal is relative, but in the world of campaigns, it is based on previous campaigns that had some sense of being normal with decorum and civility. He has lied and insulted all of his opponents...

America already had trust issues with Clinton after the e-mail server. Comey basically called her out and told us she lied to our faces on that one. One server - not. Never shared classified e-mails - she surely did. Then you've got proof that the Democratic National Committee...
