How must these qualified candidates feel about sitting out this election?
Condelezza Rice, Colin Powell, and Paul Ryan - any one of them would have been excellent candidates.
I would imagine they feel nothing but relief. If becoming a candidate for a political office just involved your qualifications for the job then there would be a number of viable candidates available. Sadly, it also involves opening up your family, friends, co-workers, employees, and anyone you happened to pass on the street 50 years ago to intense scrutiny with the sole purpose of finding fault of some kind.
Kathleen
I don't see these three as being qualified candidates. What is it that you think makes them qualified. Professional politicians and people that have worked in the government didn't do anything to prevent where we are today, in a continued decline. My opinion is that they and the loyal party voters have weakened the country.
I think, for the highest office in our government, experience and knowledge of our government should be a requirement.
Kathleen
For past 28 years we have had bad presidents, and we owe our continued decline and current pathetic conditions to professional politicians which you think we need more of today? This is verified by just looking at how weak the US is today!
Sorry, Brad. I just don't accept your premises. We have had some bad presidents in the past 28 years. I'll agree with you on that. I bet we won't agree, though, are who they were.
Kathleen
They were all bad, and that is my point. We didn't get to where we are today by having good presidents.

How open are you to a MAJOR change in American politicsIf we want to change washington, we have to change ourselves first. We have to change our expectations. We have to raise them. Washington's results mirror our expectations, and polls show we don't expect much.

Is it time to consider a coalition government? It is my opinion that neither party, Democrat or Republican, can win a national election with just their base. Both parties need some part of the Independent or undecided vote to gain an election victory. The far Left seems to think that only they know...

I won't be voting in the 2016 election, as all the candidates who did seem to have good sense lost, and the two vying for office... Don't seem to be very bright... But aside from that, it feels like a set up, as a means to manipulate history. Neither is doing anything to breed confidence, and feels...

No political advertisingWhat if instead of a presidential candidate spending millions on advertising to prove he or she wants to be elected, we just made them say where they stand on the issues? What if all a candidate was allowed to do to promote her or his campaign was to sit for media...
