Would you ever consider joining the military?
Why or why not? Are you in the military right now? Why did you or did you not join?
I considered it plenty of times. I didn't join though because I have a girlfriend here of 4 years. We live together, and I wouldn't be able to just leave her here by herself.
Proudly served and yes Id do it again. I personally believe every American has a duty to serve their nation in some capacity for the libertys and freedom they have.
I was in the military many years ago. I would have attempted to avoid it then if I had my present knowledge of how this country (the U.S.) has deteriorated. The public/electorate, politicians, "intellectuals", corporate media, and large corporations (corporate executives) have sold this country out (the U.S.). To me, it has long been not worth defending. There is no longer any difference between this country and all the socialist/fascist countries of Europe.

I was an army officer who resigned with an impeccable record after Iraq.
I would not recommend military service unless more of these conservative windbags start serving. If not, you will just feel like you are being used by contractors and politicians. There is no worse feeling than having a rich, healthy, 22-year-old young man with a trust fund thanking you for your service; like you're his butler. Deep down, he's thinking "service is for suckers". The army is no longer some democratic cross section of American society. It has devolved into a braindead constabulary force; similar to mall cops or prison guards. I hate to say it. I saw a lot of very intelligent soldiers in the lower ranks and they all looked utterly miserable.
If you insist on serving, try the Air Force, Navy, or Marines first. The army is terrible and thrives on incompetence. It has a hyper-conservative mantra and is borderline mutinous under Democratic presidents.

"..._Worst of all, this is a vision that says even though America can't afford to invest in education or clean energy; even though we can't afford to care for seniors and poor children, we can somehow afford more than $1 trillion in new tax breaks for the wealthy. Think about it. In the last...

To the hard core GOP type conservative/rightwinger: you're ridiculous, yes ridiculous in a Col. Klink, Stalag 13 kind of way.The GOP, hoping to get the youth vote, are attempting to pit the Baby Boomer Generation against those younger people that came afterwardsThis comes from an article in the...

Do you believe that America was much better when the Conservatives ran it or with the Liberalscurrently running it? Why? Why not?

Long story short: The Satanic Temple, as they are wont to do, applied for the right to include their holiday display in the capitol building. The state allowed it because, under the First Amendment, if they let Christians erect a display, they have to let everyone do it. So some MAGA nut made the...

What will it take for USA to realize we need to start minding our own business?Wouldn't this be the simplest solution to all the issues with other countries? I hate to sound cold hearted but if they want to kill their neighbors it's none of our business. Why not just work towards being 100%...
