I am guiltily caught reading a facebook link. But this story/statement resonated.
Here's the gist;
For the 1st Day of school, a Social Studies teacher had all desks removed from the classroom.
Tells all first-day students they can have their desks when they can tell how they earn them...
Skipping the body of the story to the end of the day...
(here is the full story)
... and the teacher has 27 veterans each bring in a desk and place it in classroom order.
Teacher's explains that the students don't have to earn their desks... these vets already did it for them.
[EDIT] Oops, I botched the title - just ignore that " 's " - it in the wrong place.
great example, I could have easily been one of the vets bringing the chairs into the classroom. This is an example of a good teacher, how about the bad one in GA that stood before her middle school students and said that Obama and his supporters were not Christian. Did not mean to get off topic, but why cant more teachers follow the example of your account?
