Those smarty pants. Those intellectuals who knew. Trump was a loser and all the other names the intellectuals used.
The pollsters were guaranteeing a win by hillary killar of land slide proportions. Trump didn't stand a chance.
Most of the GOP wouldn't support Trump.
hillary killary, despite of her criminal activity, was the best "leader". She had the pulse of young people, black voters, unions, latinos. You name it, she had it. She was a shoe-in for President in 2016.
European socialists loved hillary killary. So did the dictators in the Middle East - Saudi Arabia, Qutar, Kuwait.
Nobody like Trump. He was called a bigot, low life, not intellectual at all. How could a successful businessman run a country. He didn't know how to get along with people. Though a billion dollar enterprise spoke otherwise.
He "disliked" odd people. He thought men should use the mens bathroom! Absolute  lunacy in California and New York How could he say such things! Men using a men's bathroom. So 2000, ya know?
Women who love free abortion cringed at the thought that they might have to pay for it themselves vs. sucking off the teat of taxpayers.
Look at all the hillary killary programs that haven't worked - head start, college loans that have strangled young people, attacking Libya, our missteps in Syria. None of it mattered to the intellectuals - they didn't have to fight the wars. They weren't using head start. They weren't on welfare. Those intellectuals knew hillary killary would win.
And when reality hit - the quite people who were sick and tired of all their junk, went to the polls and stuck up there middle finger the the "establishment" and said, not thanks, we'll take out chance with Trump!
The snowflakes called millennials burst their little minds. Cognitive dissonance to the Nth degree. CNN has come up with 24 reasons why hillary killary blew it. They "knew" Trump was a bad man, but us wise folk know better.
Not one pollster out of  15 correctly guessed the outcome.
A wonderful sight to see. Reality coming home the east and west coast intellectuals. Maybe they'll understand that most don't like their lifestyles of beliefs. Cognitive dissonance to the Nth degree!!
You'll never see another example of cognitive dissonance that's better than what your seeing right now.
It's so funny to watch and it's going to be hilarious to hear the rationale they use to get through there cognitive dissonance!
Take that you intellectual phonies and you biased little snowflakes on college campuses.
We got Trump into the presidency despite all the obstacles. This will go down as one of the greatest upsets ever! And I'm loving it!!!!!
    No cognitive dissonance for me!
    How's your cognitive dissonance doing?

Ideological subversion has four stages.  (psychological warfare)

      Marxism / Leninism ideology.

It could take 15 to 20 years to undo what has been done.
      But, God's Spirit....

I will say it is comments like yours which are probably driving the vitriol from the left, to some extent, on this site.

I feel crushed in the middle, even though I know we (the middle, not you) are the majority.

Funny, I've watched politics for over 40 years.
I've never seen such sad commentary from the mass media. In their ivory towers, they are so out of touch with reality.
For the students and other's in the streets - complete cognitive dissonance. They cannot believe that others think their thinking is ridiculous. Just like most commentary here - name calling, bigotry - but, they'll never look at the facts that prove them wrong.
If you're student of history, this is not surprising. Just like Brexit, the elite and the government itself will put up roadblocks to block giving back any freedoms to the citizenry.
I hope Trump is successful with draining the swamp  - getting the ilk out of Congress and bring some integrity back to Government. It's at it's lowest point of trust, ever.
His first success already occurring by making sure hillary killary did not get elected. A criminal running for the presidency - I'd never have thought that possible until now.
      Go Trump!
      Cheers

I don't know that Trump can 'drain the swamp' as you put it. I don't know if that is within the power of the office of the president. However, what Trump can do is put the interests of the American people first, the needs of the American people first and set an example for Congress. If he does a good job it will not go unnoticed and it will be a road map for the task ahead.

Or, he can be the dweeb the left thinks he is and we will just have to find another way to tackle the problem.

Putting the interests of the people first would be an amazing concept in Congress today.
You mean actually have honesty and integrity?
I don't think he'll pull it off. The corruption is too engrained. The "hidden government" has too much at stake to let "citizens well being" get in the way.
          War is good for them
Stealing Americans wealth like they did in 2007/08 is good for the "hidden government", the FED supports a corrupt a banking system that benefits the elite and members of Congress.
Trump may or may not give it a shot.
I'll take  the "Don't tell me. show me" approach.
I wish him well, but he's got some heavy duty obstacles.

I wondered that, too - was this post written to soothe feelings and provide some unity or to heat emotions and drive division further than it already is.  Was it designed to better America or hurt it?

Well, one can look at the cognitive dissonance - laugh or feel sorry.
One has to do what one can to discover truth.
An intelligent person that chooses not to learn should get what sort of soothing?
Could a weightlifter get to excellent status without going through some pain? Is he comfortable while trying to exceed his limits or is it painful?
Choices are abundant in todays world - information needed is as close as a phone.
When you make the wrong choices - should one get a prize because a stupid choice was made? Should one get a prize for just existing?
It was designed to say, "Hey, look you "intelligent people", you basic premise is wrong. As you've been told for years, in very soothing and comfortable ways. If you don't want to listen, then your suffering is no fault but your own."
Remember, Hitler was elected and supported by the "elite"
Chavez in Venezuela was elected by the "elite".
Time and again, the left has been told, suggested to, soothed over and every which way but loose, that their basic precepts were wrong.
If they can't understand that after 20 years, then they need to get hit squarely between the eyes with reality.
No one gets rewarded for choosing to ignore facts.
Unless you're in some parallel universe I haven't seen yet.
So, enough coddling, enough of the prizes for just showing up, It's time to face reality and get back to restoring freedoms taken away by liberals who think they know how to run our lives.
        That help explain this?
        Cheers
